Sometimes one just has to move forward. On to the next investment.
The reason I’ve never been interested in this stock is because I’ve never heard a single person say they own the product or want to. (Except for you right now!). I expect if I asked among my social group what they thought of it, very few would even know what it is. There’s just no chatter or interest in it. Not a good place to be in for a consumer product.
Hey Travis….I also bought Soda Stream thinking since both you and MF recommended the stock, it was bound to be a winner (that’s the extend of my due diligence-not my strong point -LOL!) I also have been holding WPRT for quite a while with a combined loss of apx $9000…at today’s prices. Anyway, I am thinking I should just go ahead and take the losses. My question is do you, or anyone else reading this, have a recommendation for a good ETF? There are so many types tracking various indices, I just get confused when I look at them and so just own individual stocks. In case it matters, I am 60 so my “long” may not be as long as others. (Not sure if it is what you were talking about in the biotech thread, but JNJ bought Alios, a private biotec company that has a hep c inhibitor therefore is a “threat” to GILD–per MF)
Mary check out SPY- it tracks the S&P 500 almost exactly and has a very low cost (finding lowest costing eft’s is important as for most of them there’s very little active Managment so the costs should be very low). Good luck. Ps I agree- if you’re unable or unwilling to do your own due diligence an EFT is probably the way to go- but not too close to when you’re thinking of using/needing the money. Especially during these precarious economic times…
Thank you!
I’ve owned a soda machine since 2009. It was right about when the Israelis bought the company from the Brits. I mostly drink seltzer, so they don’t make much money from me.
I believe Soda’s drop in the USA is due in part to disinvestment of Israeli businesses because of the recent invasion of Gaza. The bombing of Gaza turned a lot of Americans against Israel. I opposed Israel’s actions but I’m not taking it out on Soda. I will probably buy more now that the price has dropped so low. I still believe the concept has legs.
Roz
who ever said -and they did -that sodastream will kill coca and pepsi was not aware that f these are seen as mostunhealthy products because of their sugar and that is where the trouble is
sugar in sodas = why would sodastream be different
it is al because of analists making a lot of wind [and tornados] to sell what they dare
to call free report just to make a lot of pennies
they are well known to
quench thirst – and they do-=and be around as long as we buy any sugar
