Novartis. – Geneva

By countryboy, December 6, 2014

This company hopes to restore or dramatically improve hearing through gene therapy . The concept is to grow or restore hair cells and is now in the testing stage . I am wondering if Dr.Kss or anyone is familiar or knowledgeable with this company !

Do you mean familiar with Novartis? That would be a core holding of a lot of pharma mutual funds and indices, and it’s one of the largest companies in the world. I held Novartis several years ago and like them just fine but don’t personally pick big pharma stocks anymore (I use a low-cost fund currently) due to a lack of interest in researching the stocks, I don’t know if Dr. KSS owns or likes that particular one.

If you mean the company Novartis is partnered with, I think they did partner with a little company called GenVec for something like this several years ago (GNVC)… not sure if it’s the same program or not, but it had to do with gene therapy for hearing loss. GNVC is tiny, I have no idea whether or not they have a prayer.
