Hi John. I’ve not looked at that one, though a lot of folks are interested — it’s a technical trading system, and there are dozens of those but I’m not an expert on them. If anyone has tried it out, I hope they’ll chime in for you.

Travis Johnson,

Your website seems to be saving many investors tons of money and frustration.
would you be able to advise about any really good newsletter service for ex Military Mariners daytraders retirees investors who can not afford to get ripped off, is there any close to holy grail investment newsletter that all of us all looking for. What would you do in our shoes.

I watched the video on fitzgerald’s system. by the way it is free. he describes the nuts and bolts of his X Pattern system which anyone could replicate on their own. he uses 2 simple formulas to trigger his buy and sell trades somewhat like the slow stochastic. he screens his stocks using piotroski’s F_SCORE. the F-Scores for stocks are readily available on Graham Investor website. for all this he charges the steep price of $1600 a year. I haven’t used this system to know how good it is but will check it out. he claims it never misses. most of his trades are longer term 3 weeks to 3 months.

Dear T. Meyer
As a near illiterate computer user I would be very grateful if you would provide an idiot proof description of how to use the two simple formulas you describe. Also how to screen the stocks using Piotroski’s F_Score.

Many thanks in advance

I signed up for High Velocity Profits earlier in the year with high hopes. I made several trades based on their recommendations and lost thousands on every one of them! It took about 3 months before I pulled the plug and no longer followed their recommendations, as each buy was very short-lived before I was given a sell signal soon after, based on steep drops in the stocks’ prices. What an irresponsible “service!” They would not even refund my entire cost of subscription, adding insult to injury.

I suckered for “High Velocity Profits” as well. It should be renamed “High Velocity Losses.”
I have followed Keith’s instructions to the letter. So far we have sold 14 stocks at a loss, and not a single stock for a profit. To be fair, one of the stocks has a paper gain. Including the $1,950 membership fee, I am out $6,198.

SCAM! I’m another sucker who lost thousands. This bastard should be hung by his balls. Performance-wise, this has been a big money loser for me. I have followed every one of Keith’s recommendations for the past four months (July – Nov, 2015), and he has lost a lot more of my money than he has made. And he does not answer my emails or phone calls.

The price of the High Velocity Windfalls is currently $129 when you accept a discount of $250.
If you purchase the program at $379 Keith promises to send you a $250 check to send as you
please. I just finished watching his new offer video. I am very interested in the program but am hoping to find someone who is already a member. If anyone has actually tried the program please comment. Thanks

The first few trades back last Feb. he told us right after the X was crossed and if you bought it for a day or two you made money. Then he started to change things and I think the best deal is to sell short. That is what happens to almost all his stocks. Of the 43 recommendations I have had from last Feb, 2015 I only know of 6 that showed any gain. Two of those gainer were on short sales. But careful of his short sale recommendations. The last short sale in January went up $10 a share within days after he recommended it.

Fitzgerald is just using the Aroon signals.

I tried Aroon Indicator, but it does not matches the timing that Fitzgerald showed in his presentation. The sell signal appeared too late if I use the default Aroon Indicator setting in ThinkandSwim.

The trick is to determine the #periods that applies to a particular stock. Each one is different. Since it requires backtesting to do this, I don’t think it is very practical method to predict the first hit for a stock.

Tuning the parameter based on each stock’s history? That has a name: Data mining.

I signed up for the service based on the hype and money-back guarantee. I’m going to exercise the guarantee after just a few weeks.

I joined this on January 20th of this year. So far we have only been given 2 recommendations. Both have seen gains but nothing to write home about.

In his emails that come as part of the subscription he has talked about other companies that are not in the green X pattern right now but are good long term investments. Of the 4 he suggested 3 are up and 1 is down $.26. Five out of six is a great ratio but again they are all small gains. All in all I’m up $26.08 in 10 days. It’s better than I was doing on my own but it looks like it’s going to be a loan road to earning back the $1,950 subscription fee I paid.

I joined High Velocity Profits on Jan 26, but couldn’t trade till Jan 30 due to a delay with the new brokerage account. So I mostly missed the boat on the 2 recommendations on Jan 22 and 28. I did buy them, and one is up a little and the other down a little. On Feb 17, a new recommendation arrived, which I bought right away. It’s now up by a hair, though in all fairness, it’s supposed to take a few days before it jumps up. Regardless, I’m worried about the $1,950 and may request a refund before the month is up next week. Also just joined Stealth Profits Trader (also at Money Map Press) for the same $$$. This one seems more hopeful, for one reason, you’re supposed to get in and out quickly so you have your money back soon to trade with again. Heavy marketing techniques, and maybe I was just gullible, but we’ll see. Has the same one-month money-back guarantee.

I also was gullible and signed up for the High Velocity system. Did 6 trades and lost money on all 6. By the time they give you the X crossing signal the stock has already made it’s big move and then when he gives you the sell signal …..everyone is selling and the stock tanks before you can get out. I was 10 days past the 30 refund period so lost my $1950 too. Should have known better though, as always: those who can trade don’t need to sell some “system” and those that can’t trade….scam other people for money. I do way better on my own.

6 of the first 7 trades were sold for a loss. Not good at all. mostly blamed on a “bearish” market. the only winner was a “bonus” trade eft index fund. Also no current recommendations are really doing anything. some up a few %, some down.

Does anyone know how to replicate Fitzgerald’s X patterns? I found the site that gives you the Piotoroski F_score for any stock. If anyone is interested it is at:

Many thanks and your help is appreciated.

Technical Indicators for Excel
http://www.forex-tsd.com/tools-utilities/4457-working-excel-tools-indicators-conversion-2.html
1) You will need to use both Aroon and Aroon Oscillator
2) You will need to import data from a stock quote site into your Excel spreadsheet

I can’t get the Graham site’s Piotroski screen to activate.
But that’s not really important. The Fitz-Gerald principle is to use Aroon on stocks that have good fundamentals, and there are lots of ways to assemble such a watchlist.

A very good site for DIY Aroon oscillator and Aroon up/down is provided by Samir Khan at the following link:
http://investexcel.net/calculate-aroon-excel-vba/

You can download the Excel spreadsheet with connectivity to Yahoo. You will need Excel with the Technical Analysis features enabled but this will allow you to make your own charts for any stock.

Mr. Khan’s program could be more accurate than the one available on Stockcharts. Also consider:
https://discuss.tradewave.net/t/aroon-custom-without-ta-lib/245

How to filter false signals from Aroon indicator?
see: http://www.dodacharts.com/2012/indicators/aroon-indicator-description-calculations-examples/#.VOB1CC6gvkd
“Like others, Aroon indicator also gives false signals sometimes. You must learn that no indicator is perfect and you need to filter out false signals from that indicator.

The best way to filter out false signals from Aroon indicator is to use 63-days Exponential Moving Average (EMA) indicator.

Now, if the price is trading above 63-days EMA AND there is a buy signal from Aroon indicator – take long position and vice-versa.
On the other hand, if you get buy signal from Aroon indicator but the price is trading below 63-days EMA, do not take that call. It’s a false signal.”

On Feb 16 I purchased his recommendations. I have made all trades that his x say within his two day time and so far I have been able to lose only $807. compared to a + I made using my own method. I was told my first two trades were old but they did tell me that until I questioned why I lost money and he said I should have gained money.
You also have to act within 10 min after you get a text or you loss $100 or more of what he is calling profit.

I listened to and read the most recent pitch by Fitzgerald on High Velocity Trading. It sounded interesting until I checked out one of his graphs to see if he was presenting the facts. I discovered that his ANDE graph showing the stock going up from 26 to 60 from November, 2012 to April, 2014 was off- Yahoo shows the stock going from around 40 to 60 from November, 2012 to April 1, 2014. So his 131% return during that time was closer to 50%. Makes me wonder who did the graph and fact checking! What else could be in error.

My error – there was a stock split that reduced the starting price to around $26, so the math is right

Jon Smith said 6 out of 7 stock picks were losses. I can’t imagine in about 2-3 months you were given 7 stocks to both buy AND sell for profit. I am guessing you might have chosen to sell not using the “sell” X as an indicator. Kathy said the gains were pennies but I am guessing these investments are recommended for longer term than a couple of months.
Casey said he “missed the bought” because he bought some recommendation a few days late. According to their system, no stock had all its profits in the first couple of days and it, theoretically, will still go up.
QUESTION: Has anyone who is using the system bought and sold a stock recommendation of theirs according to the “buy” and “sell” X and either lost money or made a minuscule profit?

I joined Feb 12, 2015. Followed all buy and sell recommendations precisely as directed. 7 out of 7 trades all closed out at a loss. Average loss around 9%. I was given an extension of thirty days to request a refund and have done so. I did receive a full refund. This was the most foolish investment I have ever made and hope this post saves someone the same fate.

Don’t waste your money. Dennis stated that 7/7 were losses. I called and was given all sorts of reasons for why I did not have gains and of course I should have known that 30 days was not enough time to truly see so was late and stuck with the loss of 1950 plus the losses so….sounds like the greatest system out there but so far pure crap. I was told that it is necessary to call in each time to see what they sold for and amount of gain. Asked why it is not auto posted on the website like other sites and was told “we just don’t.” I suppose it is so when you do call they can give you a bunch of reasons for the loss either you or the market so you won’t ask for your money back.

I joined his system late January. Since then, he’s made about 11 “Buy/Short” recommendations. The two “Sell” recommendations he made on the stocks both ended in losses. The others are not fairing very well at all. He has guaranteed 30 “winners” and six “Triple digit” profits in the first year. If they don’t occur, he’ll give me a Second year for free. Guess I have to use this for another year because he hasn’t even come close to these guarantees in the first three months. Watching these stocks, you’re better off waiting about a week before investing. I am very leary of any recommendations he makes. Yes … I guess I am out the steep $1950 fee as well. At least I will have another year for free of this useless system.

Has been completely useless and sub-par recommendations, there is nothing high-velocity about this program… save your money! Luckily I haven’t bought many of the recommendations. Nothing has lead me to believe that any of his future recommendations will be any better. Don’t make the same mistake I did! Save your money!

If I had a fail safe system why would I sell it? I could become a billionaire using my own system. There isn’t a get rich or magic formula for investing. If there was why would I share it with anyone?

Exactly-if it’s so good, why sell it? Apparently, the price has dropped to $79 when I listened to the pitch in August 2015. But from what I’ve seen on this blog, in my opinion a losing system isn’t worth anything.

So the hour long video says $79 as does the first page to sign up. How does that get to $1950 everyone is losing?
