Well, the “announcement” did happen — just doesn’t mean nearly as much, in the immediate term, for any one stock as was implied. Today is “Hepatitis C Testing Day” and the CDC is trying to take it, well, viral on social media. Just part of a large and ongoing campaign to get people tested, hopefully it works but I suspect the stock will drift back down once Tremblay’s ad push is done, at least until they get real results. Testing companies should trade on earnings, not on breakthroughs, and while their test may (I don’t know) be meaningfully better than others the company’s indicating that we’ve got a while to go before it turns them into a dazzling earnings grower.

You are most probably correct, however the only announcement I could get was on the CDC website and it was dated 2012. Thank you for looking into it .
