Friday File Delay

By Travis Johnson, Stock Gumshoe, August 14, 2015

The Friday File for the Irregulars is delayed and might not be published before the end of the day today — I’m off for a colonoscopy (remember to get one if you need one, it’s not as bad as you might be imagining and it can save your life), and I didn’t finish my writing this morning and don’t want to say something extra-foolish while under the influence of anesthesia later on… if it doesn’t come out late tonight, you’ll have it by Monday. Thanks for your patience!

My first one thurs was a non event, I had no clue for the rest of the day anything had gone on. I also had an EGD and was a bit horse, but it was the prep for the colonoscopy that was the biggest pain by far.

When I came to, I threw my legs over the side, reached under the bed and grabbed my clothes bag stood up and ripped off my gown and stood there starkers and proceeded to get dressed. The nurses, alarmed, said ‘Mr. Gui you’re not supposed to stand up yet!’ As they rushed to pull the curtains around us. I said I was fine and proceeded to stretch each foot behind my head proudly balancing on the other foot. The doc poked his head back in and said “what’s wrong?” The nurses shrugged towards me, he smiled and said don’t forget to schedule your follow up next week.

Those were some mighty fine meds. 😉

Now that’s funny, Gui. I guess I was only thinking of food because I invited the staff to my house for dinner.

LOL Vicki, I made a mess of black beans and rice, salsa with a jalepeno which I normally can’t tolerate and tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, and sharp cheddar cheese standing by ready to be diced and sliced.

I fasted right at 46 hours and thought I was in danger of fainting before hand, after the procedure I felt completely sated and never ate until the next day. There surely was a magic potion in that IV.
