I don’t know anything about them at all, sorry — from a quick glance, looks like they’re something of a “fund of funds” manager, a middle man trying to find the best money managers for their clients’ money. Never heard of them before, but that doesn’t mean anything bad or good — I’ve never heard of most Hong Kong money management folks, I’m sure.
For any money manager or personal advisor, of course, always make sure you understand how much they’re charging you and how that compares to competitors, and how they’re compensated and incentivized (just your fee, or commissions too? Kickbacks?) — performance is unpredictable, but costs are forever.
Hi ,
I have been contacted by a Peter Banz from Crown Star Investment Ltd of Hong Cong who wants to invest me into Alipay shares IPO paid in US dollars is this usual or could it be a scam?
Don’t know how IPOs are run in other markets, but I would not be interested in investing in anything that a broker cold-called me about.
There have been hints that the Alibaba finance arm, which includes Alipay, will go public at some point this year, but I’ve not seen any real confirmation or schedule.
Don’t !
