I have a pseudo water portfolio where I have several “water” stocks I follow as part of my DD. Pico is one of them.

Ben,

Hope you are doing well. Been a while since I touched base with you, and I hope things are going great with you.

I have been wondering about the stair-step down in $CDNL for a while, and while I am hanging in there, I do have several concerns. Perhaps you may be able to shed some light on these matters:
– Is there actually an Audit underway? Confirmed or just rumors?

– How can they audit when the tranche of money from the chinese is in escrow that is controlled by the chinese not KJ at $CDNL?

– When will the Cameroon tranche be released?

Biggest worry – is the SEC ready to pull the registration of $CDNL and de-list them?

I can’t see how any company can keep postponing releasing the financials for so long.

I have tried to do some sleuthing on my own, but there are so many brick-walls and rumors I seem to be running in circles.

I appreciate all the assistance you can provide.
Thank you,
Jayne

Ben,
I appreciate the link. KJ has kept us updated on Cameroon and China Red Bird moves but that doesn’t seem to compensate for the lack of financials.
Isn’t what is documented and filed with SEC of import rather than just his updates on shipping the Red Bird?
As always, grateful for your knowledge and assistance,
Jayne

I personally can’t see a positive outcome of this event, although I have to give Kevin Jones (CEO) credit for his optimism of this being a “good thing” for the company moving forward as stated in the PR. The other side of the coin is that Hangzhou Sky Valley Water Technology Co may have intentionally “stepped aside” because they did not have faith that the multimillion dollar Cameroon project would actually fund. Much remains to be seen. I wonder how the market will react in the morning. I am expecting to see a sell off, but don’t know that I would re-enter with so much uncertainty continuing. I did sell my remaining shares in September at a large loss but now the SP is half of what it was then. I wish Cardinal good fortune, but am very doubtful now.

The Hangzhou Sky Valley Water Technology Co can’t have been happy to see the company struggle and the stock price drop after their agreement. Let’s hope they are honorable and have not wanted or been able to steal his technology.
We still need to see CDNL become current with their filings, and I am wondering about their financial ability to keep going.
Their product is excellent, and could be used in so many places. I know Africa is poor, but I wonder if this is something some of those huge charitable funds wouldn’t want to help out with.
It would sure beat the women of Africa having to waste firewood just to have potable water, which is something they do have to do.

You’re living in a dream world to think the chinese will be honorable. They steal anything they can, and with the blessing of the government, too. Redbirds will be popping up all over the chinese countryside in the near future.

You’re welcome, Ben. I watched a 60 Minutes show a while back on that subject. Which is why I tried to warn Kevin soon after he made the initial announcement of the partnership. 60 Min. interviewed a few CEOs of companies who were either ruined or their progress severely stymied by getting into bed with the chinese. All thought it was a great idea because of the huge potential market. These were companies a whole lot larger than cdnl.

Hopefully cdnl can survive by doing business elsewhere in the world. Sold half my position for a profit at .007 and now wish I’d sold it all.

JCDNL This was posted on Investor’s Hangout yesterday:

“I have been a supporter of $CDNL for along time but no longer. The unending delays have finally taken their toll. The final straw for me is the emergence of Agua Saludable Group as a charity that is assisting in trying to get clean water to those in need, they have a gofundme page with $500 pledged “seriously”;

Back in October 2015 a CRB-10 unit was shipped to Panama and Agua Saludable Group was described as Cardinals latin america distributor, now its involved in the the China installation?

i quote from a press release dated October 1st 2015

Quote: Agua Saludable Group, Inc., our Latin American partner has worked closely with government officials and officials in Chiriuqui Province to establish the requirements of the demonstration as well as the final location.

Beyond this system, discussions centered on terms and sites for a prospective initial order of five Red Bird Systems that is intended to lead to a rolling order of five water systems per month to be rolled out nationwide over the next 12 to 18 months. While the first system to be installed is a CRB-10, the long term plan will include other, larger systems from the Company’s Red Bird product line

Not a single unit since the initial test unit has been sent to Panama it was all it seems hot air. The scheme to provide a first nation canadian tribe and haiti seems like pie in the sky as well.

GLTA who hold out but IMO this is beginning to smell riper than a good French cheese”

Now my comment: Sounds familiar. When I first invested in $CDNL more than a year ago, I was in touch with Kevin to get him involved in some of the “water charity organizations” like Care.org and although he said he would follow up, he never did. Another shareholder sent information about the “Rain Bird” system to a myriad of charities. None responded.

The system is constantly being tested in various locations with the anticipation of “multiple orders” resulting, but the years are going by and this has not happened. If the purification system did what is claimed I believe the situation would be much different today as the stock hovers at its all-time low. I myself have some personal experience in this field, as I developed a solar powered system to filter water in a remote location in Mexico where I had built a solar and wind powered casita on the Sea of Cortez. I was successful, and at a cost of $1000 could filter and take out saline at about 5 gallons a day. There would be ongoing maintenance costs for filter replacements. I am now doubtful that the patented filtration medium of Cardinal can do what Kevin claims. If it could, orders would be pouring in.

I have mentioned before the delays (refusal?) to post financials as a concern as well. They certainly would not look very good if posted at this point, would they?

My sincere regrets to those Gummies, including myself, who have lost considerable funds to this company that appealed to our sense of “do-good” technology. I also feel saddened for the countries that saw this as a solution to their water crisis. There may be a bounce here off the bottom, but I expect the next main event to be an investor’s lawsuit, and I doubt the company or Kevin have any funds to make that successful either. Sorry to be long-winded, but I think this addresses to some extent the questions that Sharon has posted about the future of $CDNL. Best. Don

Thanks, Donois. You are right that it will be hard for such a tiny company to deal with lawsuits. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.

$CDNL My personal reaction is that Kevin Jones (CEO) continues to cope with optimism in the face of delays and difficulties getting his big Cameroon project funded. Unfortunately the letter was similar to many that have come before, about needing to get better organized, get the financials done, become legitimized; but now indicating they will need to do a private placement for more funding (understandably as the money for Cameroon is not coming soon or in the way they had hoped) I continue on the sidelines. There had been a couple of days of upward movement in the SP in anticipation of this letter. I fear tomorrow we will return to the 52 week low and don’t know if it will hold there. I think some months out Cardinal may renew itself, or maybe not. np. sidelined until something of substance takes place. Best to all Gummies who have hung in there. Don

Water purification…CleanTeQ…long…attention Ben and anyone interested in water plays:

A while ago I took a small speculative position in CleanTeq. I entered because I thought it was a good speculation in a scandium, a rare metal with arcane industrial uses. CleanTeq is an Australian micro cap. It’s major plusses for me were that they have a good mine and Robert Friedland is the CEO and has 20% of the company.

I learned by accident that they are also a good cobalt play.

Then I learned that in addition to mining, they have a water purification process,
and they have been awarded contracts by several Chinese jurisdictions.

I have not been able to find anything on the specifics of their process, and very little other information about CleanTeQ or its water purification process. But there are several contracts for it.

WHAT IS KNOWN: CleanTeq is an Australian micro-cap with potential in scandium, cobalt, and water purification.
Management is the very best: Robert Friedland.
Money is no problem:Robert Friedland is involved.
Insider position is great: Robert Friedland owns 20%.
CleanTeq has contracts in hand for several projects in China, some of which are
for the Chinese state.
Relations with China are not a problem: Robert Friedland.

My suspicion grows that the water purification process is Friedland’s main motive for becoming involved in CleanTeq. Apparently the process has a major application in purifying mining waste water. This could explain why Friedland became involved to begin with. Since Friedland is the King and Demi-God of Large Mining Projects, he is surely familiar with the water and environmental problems of large mines, so there is a very logical connection.

I admittedly know nothing at all about the CleanTeQ water purification process, but I do not need to because there are already contracts out for it. If it is viable then there is clearly a world-wide application for it in the mining industry.

Friedland would be in a unique position to develop and promote such an application. Besides his world-wide stature as a mining executive, he donated to the Chinese state, for no consideration at all, the gold mine that evolved into Zijin Mining, the largest gold miner in China. So Friedland has an inside track to China as well as top connections and experience in Mongolia, Africa, and God-knows-where else. Everyone in the mining business knows him or knows of him:
he has done deals with many major states and big-cap miners.

I am long CleanTeq for reasons stated. It is a speculation. I cannot recommend it as an investment because I cannot find enough information about it to consider it in that light. But as a speculation I am pretty excited.

I openly solicit any information about it that anyone else is able to find, especially with respect to their water purification technology.

CleanTeQ: Thanks, Ben…I was sold on the mining aspects and prospects for cobalt and scandium , but hadn’t see the water presentation from 2015:

Long CleanTeq…anyone got any opinions on this ? Looks good to me.
Thanks again, Ben !

Obviously I dont fully understand their particular process, but Ion exchange has been around for ages…..most dishwahers and water softeners use it. Heres a quote I read:
”Ion exchange is a simple chemistry process that removes one or more harmful or undesirable contaminant from water by exchanging with another more desirable substance. The exchange is facilitated by resin – tiny polymer beads that are typically 1-3mm in diameter.
It’s the go-to water treatment solution, preferred for its simplicity, robustness, and effectiveness. However, it is costly, inherently inefficient, and produces substantial waste.

Hi Alan, I have no expertise in ion exchange but the CleanTeq presentation addresses most cost and processing issues squarely. Maybe they have a special formula for the resin.

All the info I have is from their presentation. Have not seen anything on their water program anywhere else.

The capital cost is 200K Aus per unit, have no idea if this is competitive but it seems pretty reasonable given that the target client base has big problems.

They are big game hunting, their targets are municipalities, mines, industrial plants. Their process makes “fit for use” agricultural or return-to-aquifier quality.

They have a 45% share of the Chinese JV and 100% everywhere else. Target is $100 Million pipeline by 2020. They have research at the University of Queensland and in China.

They are mum on the margins and post-installation income potential. Logically the manufacturing of the units will be China (duh!).

Not sure whether to consider it a cobalt/scandium mine with water purification as a bonus, or a water play with the mines as a bonus.

Long $CTEQF

Couple questions on old news. Does China still have a Redbird system and if so, are they reverse manufacturing it as we speak? Secondly, I believe we received money from that partnership debacle. Did we have to pay any of it back or were we able to book it? Thanks for any info.
