I found the water utility stock by using Barchart to sort today’s All Time High list first for the highest number of new highs in the last month, then again for technical buy signals of 80% or more. Next I used the Flipchart feature to review the charts. Since the Trend Spotter signaled a buy on 5/24 the stock gained 12.51%.
California Water Service Company’s business, which is carried on through its operating subsidiaries, consists of the production, purchase, storage, purification, distribution and sale of water for domestic, industrial, public and irrigation uses, and for fire protection. It also provides water related services under agreements with municipalities and other private companies. The nonregulated services include full water system operation, and billing and meter reading services.

I gather you are still positive on this stock. I’m a bit nervous about it as it keeps falling. I am way under water right now. News always sounds nice and hopeful, but we don’t really have proof of any of it yet. Hanging in there for now.

$XYL (Zylem) Jim Cramer talked about $XYL Friday (7/1) as a “pure water” investment which he thinks will do well with little risk due to the immediate need for infrastructure spending as we are discovering the water supply in the US, as well as elsewhere, is in deep decay. (I’ve started brushing my teeth in purified water, speaking of decay.) I am long and deep $CDNL but think Cardinal is a better play for undeveloped countries needing small “point of supply” systems rather than major repair and construction facilities for water treatment. I don’t know if this stock has been reviewed before. Would appreciate input. No holdings yet in $XLY. Thanks. Don
