I’m a Schaefer subscriber. He reviewed the Crius qtr this morning. The solar installations are going to be the source of any big profit surprises and hence the driver of the stock price. He noted that Q4 will likely suffer from the switchover from Solar City to Sungevity. Watch for solar growth in 2016. The other reason that 2016 is crucial for solar is the expiring tax credits. They are good thru 2016 but expire in 2017. Unless they get extended. I would expect Crius to hit solar as hard as they can in 2016, just in case.
The growth in new customers is likely to accelerate. Comcast is going to allow Crius to solicit their Texas and California customers in Q4. Company is forecasting 10,000 new Comcast customers in Q4. This is a dramatic increase from 1200 in Q2 and 4000 in Q3. If a significant number of these new organic customers also choose to add solar, Crius could surprise to the upside.
I only have a few hundred shares of CRIUS but like the steady climb recently and expect them to do well in 2016.
Thanks for the update — solar customers bring that big upfront commission, though that also makes them quite lumpy.
Nice summary of Input, pretty much my thinking although yours is much more detailed and concise. I also bought a small position and will wait to see what happens next. Thanks for your thoughts.
If I may add a thought, it always puzzled me how streaming companies would claim that somehow they were immune to the problems which dogged the operating company of the mine or farm in this case. While the risks may be lessened by diversification they still are worthy of consideration. I also thought the project generator model of mining companies was over-hyped. They are, of course, dependent on their JV partners to do the necessary work.
FWIW according to Canadianinsider two insiders of Input, Emsley and Farquhar, purchased shares on Friday, 30,000 and 15,000 respectively.
Not unusual for a speculative company that is fairly new to the marketplace to get run up by investors and then take a drop when reality sets in. Had been considering Input Capital for the past couple of months but it certainly is now much more attractive with the drop in price. Travis has obviously done a good job of playing with the numbers, and i agree there are still quite a few “unknowns” that would be nice to have more intelligence on before investing. With a stock like this I would be inclined to only take a small position, maybe 1% of portfolio to “test the waters” until more is known. The one thing that concerns me that Travis did not mention is the GMO status of the canola market. I hate Monsanto with a passion, no company should have a monopoly on seed production and by contract limit growers from saving their own seed and some of Monsanto’s tactics have been quite unsavoury and anti-free enterprise and their are numerous lawsuits in progress.
