The KSS threads are primarily designed to identify, scientifically analyze and focus on the development of scientifically promising/ novel bio advances. It will inevitably take time for these to prove their worth; so any investment in the company/ticker developing these ’new’ drugs/devices should be considered as a ’long’ investment.
However, there are some among us that believe there are quicker profits to me made by timing their trades in and out more rapidly…..in certain cases, Im among them.
This thread aims to allow the ’trader’ minded people to share such info/theses without detracting from or cluttering the main bio threads.
Enjoy, but remember, its v speculative stuff and, in the end, only one person is responsible for the decision to invest or not….that’s the person who signs the cheque…..ie YOU !

So this is general trading all stocks or just trading biotech/medtech stocks?
As with all these blogs they become whatever the readers make them through their questions and comments. I note that no moderator is listed so perhaps one will arise to give some direction and preserve this effort. This is certainly an area where money can be made ,,,or lost ,,,rapidly, depending on timing and methods.
In my opinion, its about trading techniques. Essentially that involves studying chart patterns etc. So it has practically nothing to do with any knowledge or understanding of the underlying stock.
If i were Gambly1 i had to think three times at least to participate here!
I hope he will, but honestly Alan why should he?.. . Some of his posts were deleted on thew other thread, at least that what it looks like from here. Ihave his post on my email, but it does not appear anywhere on the thread. Anyway, I do not think Gamby1 to bew thinskinned, othewise he would not have stayed THAT LONG ON OTHE THREADS:. If anyone is to blame for Gambly1 not being here it is US. Hope I am wrong!
ONLY KSS can delete posts intentionally. KSS confirms that he hasnt deleted them…..is he lying? As I have explained at least twice, Gambli’s posts were likely ‘lost’ due to a confirmed software screw up at SG. That same software prob stopped me starting this thread till I contacted Lynn. The ‘Start a Discussion’ tab returned ‘Opps, we cant find that page’ and the text Id entered was ‘lost’ (Derh???? one of SG’s own main pages cant be found by SG’s own software????). If you have copy of Gambli’s comment, by all means cut and paste it here…..I’d like to read it coz it didnt show up in my notifications.
But IMO it still comes to this……
1/ Talking $ amounts or quantity owned is not good karma. It could easily make people with a humble 5 shares feel their comments are ‘unworthy’……which is bull. Their intelligent take, their DD is every bit as worthy as anyone elses. And $ or quants have NOTHING to do with the success/failure of any tactic/strategy, unless youre such a whale that you can move the markets.
2/ Just saying ‘Trust me’ doesnt cut it. There has to be reasoning to justify that trust. I dont care if that reasoning is that youve spotted a double bottom on the horizon or youve seen the CEO down the pawn shop selling the family silver. But there HAS to be something measurable or its just hot air. There is one exception. I dont know KSS from Adam……but he has proved his knowledge time and again, so he has earned my trust by degree. Maybe if Gambli is here long enough, I may come to trust him too. But that day has not come yet. But Im happy to give him (or anyone) some rope.
Thats all Ive been asking. And the more I asked, the more evasive were the responses.
I truly hope Gambli does come here to state his case. As Ive said, Im a trader my nature and Id love to get his detailed input…..then I may learn to trust.
Come on Gambli….sock it to me.
We have neither lost nor deleted any comments, nor do we ever delete comments because we find them annoying or less than thoroughly trustworthy or of the proper tone, I expect us all to be adults and make our own judgements — and preferably not rush to same. Dunno if Dr KSS has removed any comments lately, his opinions differ than mine and he can do as he wishes with his comment threads.
The error you encountered is unrelated, those discussions aren’t missing either, just a little redirect glitch on submission for new discussions.
Travis: One person is saying his comment had ‘vanished’. The author said he’d not deleted. I experienced a site problem around the same time. If nothing else, it seemed a reasonable defusing compromise.
Alan, this one is for you!
This is one of Gambly1’s comments that is not on the thread anymore! Travis clearly stated that there was and is not a problem with the website and that he did not delete it. I do trust Travis and still wonder where the Gambly1’s comments went.
Here we go:
There is a new comment on: Cyto Who?

The next great trade that I told you about… was Sophiris (SPHS) before the P3 results on Nov 10. I posted my bullish comments on SPHS before the phase 3 results came out, and the reasons I was bullish.

For daring to post bullish comments on SPHS I was basically mocked and run off the board, accused of being a stock promoter and other unsavory insinuations. Yet I was proven right. My specific argument at the time (which turned out to be correct) was that the primary endpoint of the phase 3 trial was NOT a 2.0 point IPSS difference, as people believed, given that the interim endpoint was targeted at a 2.0 point IPSS difference, and that was why I believed the primary endpoint would be met.
I am going on the record, again, as saying that SPHS is going to partner with big pharma in the next few months and the stock price is going to hit 7-10$ in 2016. My specific argument this time is that there is a common misperception that PRX-302 needs to show a 2.0 point superiority to vehicle injection to be approved by FDA. I agree, that is the difference that needs to be shown for oral drugs, but those that follow SPHS understand that the vehicle (saline) injection itself causes a huge benefit in IPSS and as a result, IMO FDA is not going to require a 2.0 point IPSS improvement over vehicle injection, in order for PRX-302 to be approved. I am calling for a big pharma partnership and a gap over 5$ in the next 60 days (before April 1). Probably before March 1, IMO. Time will tell.
GLTA.

FYI, since I see what you were looking for now that comment is here.
Ignore my above post, Alan. Just found Gambly1’s comments, but they were somehow difficult to find. I went by the date of the comment and there was nothing. But once I realized each post has a specific number I found them on earlier pages. They were part of reply posts, I guess. Sorry for the unnecessary confusion!
Thanks Travis, finally realized how to find a comment!
Herbalix/Gambly: So it seems no one deleted any posts….unless theres others that I dont know about. So, alls well that ends well…but perhaps a little apology to KSS for the mistake might not go amiss ?

A weekly podcast interviewing profitable traders may be of interest:

I bought $CBYL @ $0.69 today using the alanh strategy of buying oversold stox hoping for a bounce.Cash value should be at least $2.00 a share. small test buy.
Gambly1 – Welcome to Stock Gumshoe!
I don’t have a problem with you posting your suggestions. I would even suggest you keep track of the recommendations you make here (buy/sell), date, shares, justifications, etc. Then we can all judge on the execution and performance of your picks.
However, I don’t care about your profits or losses, or drum beating. By that, I mean, I don’t see much value in multiple posts daily pushing your positions. Once a day, or change in your view, is sufficient.
There are multiple ways to trade. Not all of it is by what is called “fundamentals”. There is sentiment, momentum, technical, etc. Happy to listen to any points you have to make from your prespective.
I’ve cross-posted to “The arts and crafts of trading” and the “Biotech Traders thread” since it is now confusing EXACTLY where we should be posting.
