Billion dollars on a little known investment. If I’m correct I think he’s talking about Warrants. These are certificates that allow the holder to buy shares at a set dollar figure before a set expiration date. They can be very lucrative and in a lot of cases trade on their own depending on the market value of the stock. If anyone knows of a listing of warrants[1] and expiration dates without having to pay for it I’d appreciate it.

  1. Warrants are much more common on the Canadian markets than here in the US, but there are some places where you can find listings.

    You can search for the word “warrants” on the NYSE or Nasdaq sites, but there aren’t free listings that I’m aware of — there are a few folks who have done the work and created databases of warrants that they’ll sell you (or sell access to).
