The way things appear to be shaping up, at least to me, is that if a Liver or Lung medical breakthrough DOESN’T REVERSE FIBROSIS, then it won’t have any commercial profits/success
Anything less than REVERSING fibrosis, will be a HAS BEEN.

My mother died from pulmonary fibrosis complications along with a coworker. There seems to be no known cause for this disease. Is there a website to gather informtion on this subject?

A reader was asking about idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis… To that reader: IPF is a pretty tragic rare disease, one that causes the afflicted to suffer severely, as you know, and I’m so sorry to hear your mom had (sp) it. The prevailing theory is that somehow these patients have chronically inflamed lungs for which the upshot is laying down collagen inappropriately in response to inflammation. A common investigative approach now is cycling such patients on and off antibiotics, as if subliminal bacterial disease might be the culprit. But such trials have shown poor or negative results. There are certainly other diseases of inappropriate fibrosis—-retroperitoneal fibrosis, hemochromatosis—in which scar lays down without an apparent inflammatory intermediate.

Several new approaches to reversing fibrosis by attacking the enzymes that maintain it or by nuking fibroblasts themselves are in trials. I have to say I am confident one or another will pan out, as fibrosis in other disease states has shown itself to be at least somewhat reversible because it requires active maintenance to sustain itself…..continuous laying down of new collagen. Halt that, and the disease should abate, at least to a significant degree.

Other IPF patients…might be willing to be in a clinical trial. Depending on where you are, we might be able to find one to enquire about. I’d be happy to comb the trial databases on your behalf. Let me know.

    (PULMONARY FIBROSIS SUCCESSFUL TREATMENT)
I’m from MaryLand USA, I was diagnosed with Pulmonary fibrosis in Feb 2011. I may have had it for 1 or 2 years prior to that. It started with a dry cough and mild temperature, shortness of breath and fatigue. A CT scan confirmed it and I was placed on prednisone (7.5 mg), azathioprine and N-Acetyl. As the disease progressed all medication stopped working, i was introduced to NewLife herbal clinic in South Africa who have successful herbal treatment to Pulmonary fibrosis and other lungs diseases. I spoke to few people who used the treatment here in USA and they all gave a positive response, so i immediately purchased the Pulmonary fibrosis herbal remedy and commenced usage, i used the herbal supplement for only 9 weeks, all symptoms gradually faded away, herbs are truly gift from God. contact this herbal clinic via their email (newlifeherbalclinic @ gmail. com or visit www. newlifeherbalclinic. weebly. com)
