But theres something secondary in this article that really P’s me off. Theres no question that science is working 24/7 to find cheaper, more efficient ways of storing energy (and thats good for humanity), consequently there will be N speculative methods that hit the headlines. Do I invest in them all? Of course that would be unaffordable….unless youre a brand name billionaire. Here we have several who, in return for using their name to ginger up public interest/investment, are able to get in at pepper corn prices well below the rest of us. Consequently they CAN back all the horses and even if some fall, get out with minimal/zero loss (and if someone tips them the wink that the tech is looking iffey, even get out with a reasonable profit before the news goes public) leaving their others to run. Its an infallible business model !
As they say, the rich get richer.
And that is why if you are IN that position, it doesn’t matter to you….
Either way, that’s life.
Compressed air and Pumped Hydro………
Motors and compressors equal moving parts, which require repairs and upkeep.
VRFB’s require someone to look at them and see if it’s still there.
Easy to increase output by adding % of Vanadium in electrolite.
Big plus, they don’t burn up or possibly cause a flood by damn breach.
Portable Battery storage.
I don’t think it is right to compare cost per KWH between the three.

I read the article in PV mag above about the shingles. These shingles are using the newest technology that makes them comparable to panels. The company Real Good Solar Energy has been in business since 1978. Consumers prefer shingles over panels for the aesthetics.

This article doesn’t make a case to support the title, but there is some interesting information from the Australian mining perspective. It ignores Flow batteries and ignores the fact VFBs can be charged and discharged at the same time. It will be interesting to see how the cost of Li-ion battery compares to Vanadium flow as thing progress.

From my end Griffin, I can’t understand why they are ignoring that VERY important part of VFB’s…charging and discharging at the same time. It’s a huge advantage from the electrical distribution end…Cowboy
I’m hoping the new CEO of CellCube with his vast sales experience has the magic key to unlock the potential. There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of mentioning of flow batteries in the press. I’ve recently came into a large sum $$ so I’ve added some positions $RGSE Real Good Solar Energy, and have an order in for $REMX VanEck Vectors Rare Earth/Strat Mtls ETF. RGSE makes a solar tiles, REMX an ETF of rare earth and battery minerals up 36% last year. I still need to do some more DD on REMX to see what their holdings are. I’m opening up another brokerage account with IB more on that later.
