written by reader Has anyone found an options service they are happy with?

By global_citizen, August 24, 2016

Would anyone like to recommend an options service that they have extensive experience with and are satisfied with? I understand that no one can deliver winners every time but hopefully there’s a reputable option service that picks more winners than losers for a significant net gain.

Also, what do you think is the minimum stake needed to develop a healthy monthly income? I know this is relative to individual needs but any guidance here would be much appreciated. Option services are not free and few if any make a point of telling you how much you should be prepared to invest in options to make some money. I’m equating monthly income to profit and I’m assuming that profit is return on the amount invested after expenses (e.g. options service subscription, trading fees and taxes.) I would also be interested in the amount of time you spend on developing or analyzing trades.

I thank you in advance for your responses! Chip

Have you tried Option Alpha? The guy who runs it did a presentation for Investor in the Family’s Online Investing Conference this past spring. He seems pretty good, but I haven’t subscribed since my brokerage wants me to have more cash available before I can do anything beyond covered calls. If you have tried it, or do decide to check him out, I’d be curious to know what you think!

I have used ProfitableTradering “income Trader” for years with good success. What you do si SELL PUTS, which takes an account that will let you use margins. It is a weekly service. This weeks looked like this:

This Week’s Top Candidates
Stock Put Est. Margin Bid/Ask Midpoint* Return on Margin Annualized Return Probability of Expiring Worthless Next Earnings Date
ASML Holding (NASDAQ: ASML) Sep 100 $2,000 $0.57 2.9% 47.3% 88% N/A
Mohawk Industries (NYSE: MHK) Sep 200 $4,000 $0.70 1.8% 29.0% 87% Nov. 3-7
American Airlines (NASDAQ: AAL) Oct 31 $620 $0.44 7.1% 45.4% 86% Oct. 21-25

I’ve been using Palm Beach Income for almost 1 year. I’ve made money ranging in the 12-19% annualized range regularly. You sell puts and if the stock is put to you, you’ll sell covered calls. No margin plays, its pretty basic but the underlying stock picks have been well thought out and I’ve done well. I’m happy with the service and quality of the training and support. Its not for everyone, you will need a minimum of $25,000 to even begin to execute the trade recommendations.

The Palm Beach Research Group will commence to send you more email junk and offers then you could read in a lifetime but those are easily ignored.
