The aim of this thread is to identify which Gummy is following which $ticker/company for us. Start by doing a comment search to see if anyone has already ’claimed’ the $ticker. If not, please claim it by posting a comment containing that $ticker. With at least 1000 Gummies, it should be possible to cover every ticker in the sector. But its also worth considering the spreadsheats first to ensure your following something the Doc ’likes’ or you could be boning up on a dog. Thanks to all for your DD……this is the sort of collaborative effort that makes the SG bio threads/team special

Alanh…this is an excellent idea.

Three stocks of high interest to me are SCYX, ZFGN, and AKAO. Of the three, I would make a non-exclusive “claim” on SCYX. I am long and I have interest in the target.

My own tendency has been to become as knowledgeable as I can about a relatively small group of stocks.
We probably should be doing more due diligence on our investments anyway.

$SCYX Fungal infection seems like a big blind spot in medical care, fungus is everywhere but there are not reliable treatments for it. It is astonishing to me that such a common disorder has no cure.
[A long time ago I became interested in Anacor, which had a treatment for toe fungus, and I posted due diligence on it. Anacor was bought out.] I have corresponded with the company and tried to read a little about fungal species and their characteristics before hitting the hard limits of what I can understand technically. But at least I have a vague idea of the mechanism of action. Such are my qualifications for covering SCYX.

I am no longer in ZFGN, but I am considering re-entry because of the need and size of the target market.
I think ZFGN might warrant more than one analyst.

AKAO…long…my interest is similar to SCYX, but this stock is more closely followed by other readers.

I suggest that certain stocks, Arch and Zafgen for example, may warrant more than one “analyst.”

And I also suggest that certain “analysts” may want to cover more than one stock. This could be especially useful if the second stock is a competitor or a “short” of the first stock.

It would also help ensure objectivity. If we are covering ARTH, it might be a good idea to keep an eye on 3DM, or have someone who is skeptical also cover the stock, like Anamorph did with Arch. We want enthusiasm but we do not need cheerleaders. The negatives also need to be presented objectively.

Having said this, I like the Gummie tradition of voluntarism, and would not impose anything on anyone.
