Checking on a couple high-dividend favorites in the technology space, both of which I think are worth buying at current prices.

nice to hear you separate your FM Reits from the rest (ie.apt and office Reit), because porter has the REITs part of his dirty 30, ripe for the short or putts. The impending refinancing of commercial real-estate will cause huge defaults in highly leverage companies, hints of interest rates rising (lowest unemployment in 9 years) because of a strengthening economy. The fall out of CBMS during the next refinancing is supposed to be catastrophic for all highly leveraged, interest reliant companies. I hope yours is strong enough to handle this impending down draft to the reit sector. I would love to know the names of the dirty 30, he does let a few slip, like Ford and GM, to much debt if things get bad. I tried to sleuth out his CMBS that are bound to fail if refinancing is tougher next time but found many that fit his failing grade. I will keep an eye on COR, I think it is good value but may weaken on the bad news to the sector as a whole.

Porter has been wrong too many times for too long too pay any attention to. I used to be a suscriber to many of his newsletters. I can easily say that most of what he recommended became a Loss for me. If you predict 1000 stocks you will be right in 10 of those, for which you can brag about and put in the hall of fame announcements. Some day the stock market may crash and Mr. Porter will come out and say, see I told you so, we’ll that does not make you a genius does it.

Travis, just curious if I accept the tender offer that my brokerage company sent for the $110/share offer from Qualcomm, will I have to wait until the acquisition is 100% complete before I receive the funds? or are those offers paid more expediently.

    Thanks,
