Velocity Options Trader program?

By cagboulder, August 15, 2017

Has anyone heard of Velocity Options Trader program from Roger Scott at Market Geeks / Options Geeks? Is a ”high velocity pullback zone” a real thing? Or just something he made up?

Never get into a program where the website and presentation does not provide you with a clear contact phone number. Also be very wary of the sales pitch. If it sounds too good to be true,….. well you know, it probably is. It’s the wild west out there for the get rich quick schemes. Don’t feel pressured to sign up. Here’s a little secret. They need you more than you need them. Don’t be in a hurry. Research those making the pitch on Stock Gumshoe. You’ll be glad you did. Saved me thousands and a lot of headaches. These promotors… Read more »

I bought his Titan Program. It’s a net loss over the last two months. I stopped implementing his recommendations.

Thank you so much for sharing – he sure sells it hard doesn’t he. Sounds like a good concept, basically using a bond proxy like the VIX or SPY puts. Impressive numbers though, if they’re true. Sorry you had a bad experience

I joined in mid 2019. Results were never great and quit using it. This huy seems to be a sammer because he sells so manystrategies, each with a diffrent gimmick. He makes money selling products and services

Roger Scott (same picture in both marketing schemes, so same person) is now pushing a program he is calling Alpha Rotation. It seems to be a plausible protocol where you or he determines the stage of the economic cycle that currently exists, know what sector ETFs do best in that cycle, and invest in the ETFs or their options accordingly. Investments are often in ‘clusters’ of ETFs or their options. He wants $1497 for an annual subscription. Anybody had any experience with this? Superficially, the plan seems ok, but his guarantee is just another year of the same service, which,… Read more »

So true – always amazes me how these various “professional trading companies” expect traders to cough up significant dollars based only on what they say and show – no real proof, no trial. Do they not know how many just like them are out there cluttering our inboxes every day????

His latest is the Catalyst Alert program supposedly spotting Russell 2000 stocks about to take off. The logic seems OK – but the premise of just follow the recommendations to make tons of money – a bit too simplistic. And of course – normally costs $3997 – but now just $1497. Seems like a come on.
Has anyone had any experience with this or any other Market Geeks trading programs?

Just listened to the 9/26 @4pm online presentation. Says he’ll answer questions, but doesn’t. Asked how he chooses analyst which is primary to the “Catalyst Alert” program who seem to be primary drivers of these volatile predicted upswings……answer back by text, “Proprietary program…”. I have request a call back for my questions……I’ll jump back in if given any cogent answers……

yes I signed up and I just posted a comment about it today 3/20/19. Here is what I wrote to Roger Scott’s Billionaire Breakouts: “After looking at your Catalyst Brealouts Optons Model Trade tracker I see that overall you have losses that out way gains and the grand total from 8/06/18 to 3/11/19 is a loss of $15,523.00. No wonder you don’t give refunds. Your service sucks!!!!!! your wins of 19 while your losses are 56. A monkey throwing darts could do about the same….or better! The stock trades also are negitive return. After 6282 trades the total amount invested… Read more »

Thanks for posting Michael. I asked him on his Wealth365 Summit presentation today 4/9/19 what happened to his hedge fund and he gave me a pat answer about too much regulation……could be but more than likely he blew it up.

Sadly, I joined the Billionaire Breakouts about 2 months ago, and it’s been all losses so far. First time I have tried a service like this.
While most of the rest of my portfolio is gaining, his recommendations have been losers. What a disappointment and a waste!

This guy is a fraudster. The monkey analogy is perfect. He’s cocncocted over a dozen strategies to sell, and one of them is at least making money, then promoted via affiliate partners, like Todd Mitchell and Tradeshark.

I agree, I tried to find reviews on Roger Scott, didn’t find anything negative, the applied (lol) to do his first Bootcamp course which I did for around $3000- $4000 area, learnt a little, but nothing solid or anything I didn’t already know. The whole point was to learn Options. Was questioning much of his teachings and signals and was basically blacklisted to a point, not returning emails etc. Then the other day he did a presentation with serial scam artist Rob Booker stating Booker was the best FX trader in the world, At that point everything became very clear… Read more »

So, don’t know what possessed me to join, but I paid the 1400, and the win rate has been about 15 % for the last 2 months. He said that’s what to be expected in a down market, so I’ve laid off of the recs, perhaps until if and when the market begins to show signs of life. Otherwise, I’ll eat the fees. I’m usually not that impulsive, but I got suckered into it. The promo was very slick.

Just finished the hour and 45 mins. sales pitch which I found ridiculously long… The approach does sound intriguing, but I’m sorry to hear that his results don’t match his claims. He says that his strategy works great in up and down markets, apparently that’s not the case.

high velocity optios seems to be good concept.it was used by paul tudor jones(with 200ma). you take stock in strong uptrend as qualified by relative strength RS, and look for pull back that is neither shallow nor very strong but moderate to bounce upwards from a high velocity barrier. This barrier on daily charts comes up at lower bollinger band of bb(10-1.5) and price never to drop below sma50 line before bnounce up. the scene is combinatiion of long term uptrend and short term down trend and looking for a reversal from pull back low.we buy calls if bounce shows up.… Read more »

I have subscribed to 2 of his programs, unfortunately the track records shown were for the long uptrend we had. I have stopped trading them since the results I have gotten don’t come close to the previous history. If you are going to subscribe I would wait until you see his track record during good and bad times.

No!No!No!….. so far so bad. 6 weeks into his recommendations after paying 1495 for the non refundable signals….results….down 27% on my trading account. Approx. 1500 dollars lost so far. If you want to make roger scott richer try his amazing Greek named theta beta and alpha options. You’ll get broker while he gets richer.

Roger Scott (not his real name) is another fraudster. I have contacted him several times asking for proof of his programs’ success. Never any reply. He operates out of a Mailboxes, Etc. in LA. His companies, their fake addresses, and the trading programs change with the weather. Pitches are as slick as they are fake. Packed full of cherry-picked, phony trade examples and bogus statistics. One of the first to use a canned (phony), attendee comments window to create the illusion there are a lot of folks crazy for the program. If his lips are moving, he’s lying. Have you… Read more »

Why do you think that Roger Scott is not his real name? Roger Scott is also associated with WealthPress and the WealthPress LLC doc show Roger Scott as his name, so I think it is his real name. Roger Scott A, M, B, R Scott Roger Address 216 SETTLERS ROW NORTH, PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FL, 32082 I did see this below in searching for Market Geeks but I don’t think it’s the same. Market Geeks, LLC is a Nevada Domestic Limited-Liability Company filed on December 30, 2005. The company’s filing status is listed as Permanently Revoked and its File Number… Read more »

I’m pretty sure that is his real name, his programs are also sold by Todd Mitchell so I’m pretty sure it real. As I have previously said I subscribed to the Titian & Alliance EFT Trader programs. With the market dropping at the end of the year his programs did not do well and I stop trading them. However if you take a long term of one year or greater you probably make money. But I don’t thank any one of us wants to wait that long. That said it will probably make money when the market recovers and does… Read more »

Sadly, I got caught up in Roger’s marketing (which is very convincing, he is a great presenter) and signed up for several programs, not realizing how much I was spending. Money I could now use desperately, but my requests for even a pro-rated refund have been declined. As far as the service goes, I signed up in Aug/September and his recommendations were mediocre, mostly losing, losing a lot if you used options. I’m sitting out now. Again, in the long run I think Roger’s programs may be good, but you know, you pay him to be a guru so he’s… Read more »

I am sad to hear about the negative experiences people have with this vendor Roger Scott. For the last month or so I have been following the promotional videos and other information, not that I intend to subscribe. I have been trading over 50 yrs and was present or involved in many of the landmark events he is referring to in the description of his his background. Sometime around 1980 I was invited as a floor trader to come in on a Saturday for a mock trading session for some movie (Trading Places), my wife said “no way, we are… Read more »

I signed up for the Billionaire Breakouts after listening to Roger Scott’s smooth talking well presented sales pitch. One I signed up and looked at their track record this is what I wrote to them: After looking at your Catalyst Brealouts Optons Model Trade tracker I see that overall you have losses that out way gains and the grand total from 8/06/18 to 3/11/19 is a loss of $15,523.00. I thought the Catalyst Breakouts stock model was a loss too but it isn’t. It has a gain of over $16M. At the top of the spreadsheet, Roger lists the returns for the most recent six positions as the amount invested (so huge losses). If you plug in values to make those returns flat, the overall returns for the last 20 years are truly $16.6M starting with $2000 in 1999. That said, the options model for the seven months shown in is his options spreadsheet have lost over $16k investing appx $10k in each rotation. If the trader didn’t have… Read more »

Would not the return have been greater, over that 20 year period, if one had just invested in SPY?

From “The Office of the Trading System Investigators (OTSI)” All recommendations come from the market via the promoter’s scanner. In this discussion, it is noted that low winners with lots of losers from Roger Scott, or anyone else with this kind of performance, is a waste. Essentially they are not traders, they are snake oil salesperson selling worst scanner results. Answer: There are so many free scanners at brokerage houses and enough open information on YouTube and here, you don’t need someone’s tips. You need a set of strategies that have a track record with you understanding and managing. Any… Read more »

Doesn’t OTSI focus alcohol and tobacco rather than trading? Sounds like you do have good trading knowledge and experience. Roger’s systems don’t have 100% winners but his mechanical, rules-based approach to trading is sound. The weakness in this systems that I see is lack of information about money management. Beginners should beware. You can lose all of your money if you don’t manage properly.

Roger Scott is a prolific marketing machine. However, personal experience with the Alliance Trader (ETF Sector Model) is less than what I was lead to believe. Personal experience shows that successful services are kept private, but when they fail, the services are sold to the public. The service started reporting data when it began life with an impressive 1000% gain in the first year 2009. Since 2009 the service claims it has gained an impressive 50% per year. However, the 12 month performance (April 2018-2019, was-1.6% (exclusive of fees and his advisory fees). The 24 month performance was +1.85%, exclusive… Read more »

I subscribed to Roger Scotts Billionare Breakouts and i have to say it is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! You would do better letting a monkey throw darts. BEWARE of no money back offers that give you nothingt but more of the same crap that you would want your money back for. and also this opens you up to his daily relentless marketing of more crap!!

I joined billionaire Breakouts three weeks ago and followed Roger’s recomendations to the letter and played his options recommendations. I lost approximately $5,000 on $20,000 traded in three weeks. His recomendations were nothing like he claimed they would be and the charts did not match the chart style he claimed he would follow. He also did not seem to have any magic formula as he claimed he had. What I did find is a constant barrage of E-Mails promoting his other services and his claims of educating you through his online seminars when they were actually just sales promotions for… Read more »

Just sat through his Weekly Profits Countdown webinar. It’s very compelling. But I’m not buying. He gave us 5 “free” picks, but he isn’t telling us his method or timing for trading them. He says if you buying using his model (some kind of options?) and do it when he tells you they will all triple in value, lol. He’s telling us fortune favors the bold, the people who get rich are the ones who take action, this is the way to stop working in a cubicle, “do it for your wife! do it for your kids!”
