China is pushing greater percentage of new energy vehicle (NEV) sales. NEV sales surged 79% in Sept. NEV sales is about 38% above 2016 pace. For 2019 China wants 10% of sales to be NEV. For 2020, they have target of 12%. That is a lot f NEV cars!!
NEV can be all electric or hybrid or other non-petroleum powered car.

$FYI – Toyota’s hydrogen fuel cell trucks put to work in Port of LA pilot

“Toyota has hydrogen fuel cell transport trucks that generate no local emissions, and that have 670 horsepower and an 80,000 lb total weight capacity. The powertrain includes two of Toyota’s Mirai fuel cells, and a 12kWh battery charged by the cells. Toyota is now running a concept version of the truck along pilot routes that run around 200 miles per day, moving good between depots in the Port of LA and Long Beach.”

I think he is a silver trader trying to drum up business from climate deniers. There are no sources for any of the information presented so it is all his opinion. It’s not that there arn’t problems with EV there are but there is no case made that they can’t be solved. The article is totally negative which says he has an ax to grind.

After reading above link it got me thinking about my years of working and remembering the stand up forklifts that where driven by our logistics personnel keeping the assembly line filled 24/7 with subbed sequenced parts for building diesel engines at Caterpillars S.C. facility. Well the batteries where switched out when charge was getting low with charged ones on a automated roller system. I see this being something that cold be used as EV’s become more populated. Bad part and costly part will be making EV’s compatible to make this convenient. The charging of batteries is the biggest thorn in the butt that I have heard of from EV owners. Simply having compatible cross the market batteries will be the way. Even having your own system at home charged with solar energy having 2 batteries. One getting changed as you use the other. ⌚

Future EV owners will have 2 batteries on on charge or waiting for current battery in EV to run low for exchanging out for new one. The home battery charger will charge solarly. Change with auto battery charging system I have under patent protection from infringement.

Range Anxiety is being replaced with Recharging Delays. How do you replace such a huge EV battery pack that takes up the floor of the car? Cannot imagine doing it manually. Those batteries are the very expensive too. Expecting consumers willing to buy a second expensive battery (likely a theft target) is not most people want to buy. Consumers want fast charging at ubiquitous locations so that they can drive as far as they want with the fast “refueling” they are accustom to with gas cars. Having a second battery at home is not going to help with distant travel.

There is also the phenomenon of gas cars occupying public parking spaces designated for charging EV cars.! Especially at hotels where EV drivers expect to power up overnight, but find gas cars parked in the charging spot! There is no law against it. You know those hotel parking lots get tight by bedtime.

Keeping the batteries secure with in the charging and swap out system will be anti theft proof it will not be a issue. All systems will be set and will be covered, the entire system will be handled by certified technicians. This will be a total major change and the Internet of things will be the infrastructure that will make it all happen,.

$FYI – As electric vehicles make a move to the mainstream, utilities are taking notice

Note; There has been concern from Gummies that the EV will deplete energy from grids that are short and rightfully so. I found this article on Yahoo though it doesn’t have all the answers it is being worked. There are companies working on load balancing. Recharging units can talk to each other and determine who needs to recharge when. EVs are not uniformly sweeping the country so hopefully charging units will have time to improve as the switch is made from ICE. There is no mention of batteries and they should help level load requirements also. I’m sure PNNL will be evaluating these possibilities as well in their studies of the grid.

Lithium market news – Sam Jaffe sees lithium-ion battery demand rising from 80 GWh this year to 750 GWh in 2026. That’s a staggering ~10 fold increase in 10 years.
Lithium company news – Pilbara Minerals lands an off-take funding and equity deal with China’s Great Wall Motors.

$FYI Lithium Junior Miner News For The Month Of November 2017
by Matt Bohlsen
Summary
Lithium spot and contract price news: Spot prices were little changed over the month. SQM reports contract prices “surpassing US$13,000/ton.”
Junior lithium miners company news – Neo Lithium produces a superb PEA with a post tax NPV 8% of C$1.45 billion.
Conclusion – My monthly highlights.

https://seekingalpha.com/article/4128449-lithium-junior-miner-news-month-november-2017?uprof=46&isDirectRoadblock=true

Note: Bohlsen is now publishing two lithium articles a month one for miners and one for Junior miners. In fact has included a nice chart showing the Junior miners he is watching by where they are in development cycle and by grade of metal. Though Lithium is no longer the ‘hot’ metal it is still in high demand and bears watching by the neophyte metals investor. What we are seeing happening now in Lithium Juniors will probably be happening in Junior Cobalt miners in the next year or so, Off-take agreements, M&A, consolidation, etc., etc..

Every single company with “lithium” in its name is trying to ride the coattails of that same trend, of course — do note that this is a paid ad, which often means either that someone’s trying to pump up the price to sell it, or the company is planning to raise money soon. Since it’s paid for by the company in this case, it’s probably the latter. From the disclaimer:

“This Advertorial was paid for by Native Ads Inc., in an effort to enhance public awareness of Bearing Lithium Corp. and its securities. Native Ads Inc. has been retained by Bearing Lithium Corp. to provide marketing and advertising services. Pulse Financial Publishing Inc. has or expects to receive one hundred and thirty six thousand seven hundred and seventy one dollars and twenty five cents by Native Ads Inc. All content, ad creatives and designs were previously approved by Bearing Lithium Corp. “

There have been paid “advertorials” pumping up this company for quite a while now — OilPrice did one over the summer that’s still up here: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/smart-money-playing-lithium-boom-233000571.html

Don’t know anything else about them, other than that the property has several partners and they’re buying out (or have bought out) a company, Li3, that sounds familiar — I think they merged with a Mongolian SPAC back in 2013 to raise capital.
