Project is Year Round Accessible with Paved Roads Right to Drill Targets
Drill Ready with Drilling Expected in Early 2018
Battery Metals Demand for Cobalt, Lithium, Nickel at Historically High Level Due to Electric Vehicle Battery Growth
CURRENT NEWS:
Sienna Resources Inc Defines Additional Drill Targets at Slättberg Cobalt-Nickel-Copper Project in Sweden
Sienna Resources (SIE—TSX.v) (A1XCQ0 –FSE) (SNNAF—OTCBB) is pleased to announce that initial results have been received from the ongoing magnetic survey work on the Slättberg Cobalt-Nickel-Copper Project in Sweden. High resolution magnetic surveys in the area of historic nickel-copper-cobalt mines have defined multiple strong magnetic responses along the trends of mineralization. These areas of strong magnetic response are interpreted to represent steeply plunging bodies of massive sulfide mineralization that is rich in pyrrhotite. The magnetic data appears to confirm additional continuity of drill defined zones of mineralization known from the historic drilling. Along with the historic drill data, this new magnetic data is being used to define multiple high priority drill targets for the upcoming drill program.
Further work prior to drilling will include additional magnetic surveys and integration of the new geophysical data with historic data sets.
Slättberg’s massive sulfide mineralization is known to be strongly magnetic, owing to its high concentrations of pyrrhotite, a magnetic ferrous sulfide mineral associated with the Co-Ni-Cu mineralization. The new magnetic data is being used to potentially generate additional high priority drill targets on the project. Drilling is slated to commence in the coming weeks.
Survey methods:
Field teams are using a G-859 Geometrics Cesium Vapor Magnetometer paired with a G-856AX Proton Procession magnetometer as a base station. Approximately 180-200 survey lines of 500 meters in length are planned at 25 meter spacing. This survey will cover the central portion of the trend of historic mine workings where the initial drill program will be focused. Additional surveys will be conducted across other prioritized areas in the coming months.
Jason Gigliotti President of Sienna Resources states, “We are very pleased with the pace and quality of the data being gathered to date on the Slättberg Cobalt-Nickel-Copper Project in Sweden. Field crews have diligently defined multiple new targets and we expect to be drilling in the coming weeks. We have just closed an oversubscribed placement for $2.5 million and we plan to deploy this cash strategically and immediately. Battery metals demand has never been stronger as most car companies and even countries have a plan for an expanded Electric Vehicle program putting significant long term upward pressure on cobalt, lithium, nickel, copper and graphite. We plan to very active in this space in 2018.”
Cobalt Prices Break Out to 10 year highs at $36.51 and Sienna closes oversubscribed PP for Cobalt Development.

About Sienna Resources Inc.:
Recently Sienna received TSX Venture approval to go forward into an exploration and option agreement to acquire the Slättberg Cobalt-Nickel-Copper Project in Sweden (the “Project”). The Project consists of two adjacent exploration permits comprising approximately 9513 contiguous acres.
Jason Gigliotti president of Sienna states, “We are very pleased to receive approval for this exciting cobalt-nickel-copper prospect. Cobalt prices have just crossed fresh ten year highs, and we look forward to advancing this prospect. There are 12 historic mines on this property and with modern mining approaches, we are very optimistic about what this project could contain.”
Northvolt is planning to be the largest battery factory in Europe at roughly the same size as Tesla’s Gigafactory. Jason Gigliotti states “Northvolt wants to locally source as much battery material as possible such as cobalt and nickel. There are now more than 20 mega battery factories currently being planned or constructed globally, creating a massive demand on the battery metals such as lithium, cobalt and nickel. Sienna is focused on exploring and developing projects that will meet this insatiable demand.”
Slättberg is located 25 kilometers northwest of Falun, Sweden. Slättberg is a historic mining camp hosting cobalt-nickel-copper rich massive sulfide mineralization that occurs within a two kilometer belt of historic nickel-copper mines. The Project contains drill defined massive sulfide mineralization that extends to ~100 meters in depth, and remains open for expansion at depth and along strike. The Project is accessible year round, with nearby rail, power and 5 smelters in the Nordic region. At least 12 historic mines are located on the property, with historic operations dating back to the late 1800’s.
geophysics.png
Mineralization at Slättberg is hosted by 1.8-1.9 Ga (Svecofennian) supracrustal rocks (metavolcanics and metasediments) located along the southwestern flank of a large gabbroic intrusive complex. The historic mines are positioned along an east-west trend of massive sulfide occurrences developed in and around a similarly oriented body of “leptite”. This is a local term used to describe rhyolitic/felsic tuffaceous rocks commonly associated with sulfide mineralization in Bergslagen. Mafic and ultramafic rocks also occur in and around the mine workings.
occurrences.png
Sweden is at the forefront of an exploration and development boom in the mining industry. The country’s favorable business environment includes a low corporate income tax rate, a proactive geological survey, and broad public support for export-led resource extraction. Sweden has a long history of mining, and is host to some of Europe’s largest active mines.

And while the vanadium battery revolution is occurring worldwide, with more than 30 VRFB projects having been built or under construction since 2014 in 11 countries, China is building the biggest, as part of the country’s commitment to reduce reliance on coal-fired power and transition to renewables.
In November, one of the biggest proponents of vanadium flow battery technology, Pu Neng, was awarded a contract to build one of China’s largest VRFBs, with the project described as a glimpse into the future of the Chinese electricity grid.
Pu Neng will initially build a small-scale VRFB to demonstrate the capability of using the technology to integrate a solar photovoltaic system into the energy grid at Zaoyang.
That battery would be followed by a 100-megawatt, 500MW-hour energy storage project, underpinned by a VRFB, which is planned to be the cornerstone of a new smart energy grid in Hubei Province.
Pu Neng’s project follows Rongke Power’s 200MW-800MWh VRFB, which it is building in the Dalian high-tech zone and is the largest planned chemical battery in the world.
Rongke also has a large-scale manufacturing facility, which builds the batteries, with the project expected to come on line by 2020

Proposed Drilling
The proposed 8000 m drilling for the spring/early summer drill program will target the new spodumene pegmatite dykes located between the Main Dyke and the South Dyke (Figure 2 – Target 1). These new spodumene dykes were discovered at the end of the 2017 Main Dyke drill program (Power Metals press release dated Nov. 27, 2017). One of the new dykes was intersected in drill hole PWM-17-49 with 1.61 % Li2O and 143.8 ppm Ta over 3.0 m (see press release dated January 24, 2018).
The spring/early summer drill program will also target the area between the Main Dyke and the Northeast Dykes (Figure 2 – Target 2). Coarse-grained spodumene pegmatite was intersected in the 5400 m drill program on the Main and North Dykes and in the 3020 m drill program on the Northeast Dyke. The Northeast Dyke is located 900 m northeast along strike of the North and Main Dykes and is within the same tonalite dome as the North and Main Dykes. Since the Northeast, North and the Main Dykes are along the same strike and within the same dome, this indicates that they were emplaced along the same deep-seated structure. The drill program between the Main and Northeast Dykes will test the presence of the spodumene mineralization along strike.
A drill program will test spodumene mineralization identified during the mapping program on granitic outcrops west of the Main Dyke (Figure 2 – Target 3).
Additional targets will be drilled in Fall 2018 including the East Dyke, down dip extension of Main Dyke and dome targets identified during the Spring mapping program.
MGX Minerals 22220182
Figure 2 2018 Drilling exploration targets at Case Lake Property.
Proposed Mapping
Power Metals identified that the Main, North, South, East and Northeast pegmatite dykes are not hosted by the Case Batholith as previously thought, but by a single laccolith (Power Metals press release dated Nov. 6, 2017). A laccolith is a dome-shaped igneous body with a flat bottom which is an offshoot of a batholith. A laccolith looks similar to a water drop on a table. The Case Batholith is a 50 x 85 km ovoid granitic complex characterized by a gravity low. Power Metals has identified that the Batholith has multiple domes along its margins.
The domes are visible in Google Earth images as white outcrops and are topographic highs. These domes have no historic exploration work on them and they have the potential to host spodumene pegmatites similar to the Main and the Northeast Dykes. A total of nine domes have been identified on the Case Lake Property and will be mapped and sampled:
Three domes along the Translimit Road
Three domes near the intersection of the Translimit Road and the Crossover Road
A dome bisected by the Tomlinson Road
The “Henry Dome” which hosts the Main, North, South, East and Northeast Dykes
A dome near Kabika Lake
(Figure 3).
Exploration on the domes will consist of traverses along GPS grid lines within each dome to map the lithology and collect grab samples to evaluate the lithium content of the tonalite/granodiorite and pegmatite dykes. Pegmatite dykes will be stripped, trenched and power washed to expand their exposure. Spodumene pegmatite dykes will be channel sampled and assayed. Each dome will be evaluated as a potential drill target.
MGX Minerals 22220183
Figure 3 Case Lake Property granitic dome targets for 2018 mapping program.
Case Lake
The Case Lake Property is located in Steele and Case townships, 80 km east of Cochrane, NE Ontario close to the Ontario-Quebec border. The Case Lake pegmatite swarm consists of five dykes: North, Main, South, East and Northeast Dykes. The Northeast Dyke contains very coarse-grained spodumene. MGX currently has a paid up 20% working interest in Case Lake and four other lithium hard rock properties in Ontario controlled by Power Metals as well as any additional properties acquired prior to August 2020. The Company has the right to acquire an additional 15% working interest, for a total of 35%, in Case Lake Lithium and the other lithium properties by making a one-time payment of $10M prior to August 2020. The Company holds an option to acquire 10,000,000 shares of Power Metals at $0.65 (see press release dated August 2, 2017).

$MGXMF fp -MGX Minerals Announces Engagement of Dr. James G. Blencoe to Develop a Thermochemical Process for Extracting Lithium from Spodumene; Case Lake Lithium Project Drill Core to be Tested
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA / March 8, 2018 / MGX Minerals Inc. (“MGX” or the “Company”) (CSE: XMG / OTCQB: MGXMF / FKT: 1MG) is pleased to announce it has executed a Letter of Intent (the “LOI”) with Orion Laboratories, LLC (“Orion”) of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and Light Metals International Inc. (“LMI”) of Vancouver, British Columbia, to jointly develop and commercialize a new process for extracting hard-rock lithium from spodumene concentrate.
LMI has developed a thermochemical technology to rapidly manufacture lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) and/or lithium hydroxide (LiOH) from a variety of spodumene (LiAlSi2O6-rich) concentrates. The method is modular and highly scalable, thereby enabling a small “factory footprint,” and holds the potential to significantly decrease overall hard-rock lithium production costs. Unique features of the technology include:
Only three feedstock materials are required: (i) a spodumene concentrate, to produce high-purity Li2CO3 and/or high-purity LiOH; (ii) high-purity CO2, which is consumed in forming Li2CO3; and (iii) high-purity H2O, which is consumed in forming LiOH.
Creates three potentially saleable high-purity products: Li2CO3 and/or LiOH, aluminum hydroxide, Al(OH)3, and amorphous silica, SiO2.
Eliminates use of conventional sulfuric acid leaching.
Modular capabilities allow for scalable and remote deployment.
Orion and LMI are led by James G. Blencoe, Ph.D. Dr. Blencoe has more than 40 years of experience designing, constructing, operating and maintaining specialized equipment for advanced chemical production. He has extensive knowledge of the thermophysical properties and phase relations of numerous solids, liquids and gases. Dr. Blencoe has also developed techniques for the precise and accurate control and measurement of chemical composition in actively-reacting open and closed systems. Prior to entering the private sector as co-founder, President and CEO of Orion Laboratories, LLC, he spent nearly 24 years working at the renowned Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee, and nine years working at The Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Blencoe has published more than 50 articles and reports in leading peer-reviewed scientific journals and technical magazines. He earned a B.S. degree in mining engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1968, and a Ph.D. degree in geology from Stanford University in 1974.
MGX and joint-venture partner Power Metals Corp. (TSX.V: PWM) have agreed to provide Dr. Blencoe with a 10 kilogram sample of spodumene-rich rock originating from the Case Lake lithium project in Ontario, which will be used to perform initial bench-scale laboratory testing.
“The success of our Case Lake, Ontario joint venture has led us to review new metallurgical methods that have the potential to significantly reduce the costs and equipment required for extraction of the principle spodumene elements lithium, aluminum, and silicon (the latter in the form of silica),” said MGX President and CEO Jared Lazerson. “We believe Dr. Blencoe has a firm understanding of the thermochemical requirements to achieve such a goal.”
Terms of the LOI
MGX has agreed to acquire an initial 50% interest in the technology and associated intellectual property in exchange for an initial cash payment of US$250,000 and issuance of 100,000 common shares of the Company. Initial proceeds will be utilized to complete bench-scale laboratory testing of the technology. Upon successful completion of laboratory testing, MGX has agreed to issue an additional 250,000 common shares. Should MGX elect to further proceed, the Company will fund development of a modular manufacturing plant. Upon successful development and testing of that plant, MGX will have the option to issue an additional 500,000 shares to LMI, at which time a Joint-Venture (“JV”) will be formed with MGX holding a 70% interest and LMI a 30% interest in the JV. MGX will have the option to purchase an undivided 100% interest in the JV at any time for Can$10 million, of which LMI will have the right to choose a combination of shares and cash as consideration.
