    I think it’s mobilecoin. See http://www.mobilecoin.com.
    My summary follows.

A crypto-currency designed to be used by anyone.
Payments are private with sub-second transaction times.
Key management is easy using 4 to 6 digit PINs.
Privacy enhanced by opaque ledger, encrypted (i.e., secure) transactions, and forward-secrecy.
    User and planet friendly.

    White paper is here https://www.mobilecoin.com/whitepaper-en.pdf.
Quotes from it below (nothing in it is copyrighted):

“MobileCoin is an effort to develop a fast, private, and easy to use crypto-currency that can be deployed in resource constrained environments to users who are not equipped to reliably maintain secret keys over a long period of time, all without giving up control of funds to a payment processing service.”

“The technical design of MobileCoin is centered around a target user experience for integrating crypto-currency into mobile messaging apps like WhatsApp or Signal. A user should be able to install the app, enter a 4 digit PIN, and send/receive funds to/from other users.”

… Sub-second transactions, funds immediately available, account balance and transaction history are private. 4 digit PIN entered to regain secure access to funds.

… The MobileCoin network is made up of “nodes ” that serve “users”. Nodes have no access to user funds and cannot gain any knowledge of user balances or transaction history. Accomplished via a layered approach, combining several levels of protection.

“All MobileCoins nodes are designed to run in an SGX secure enclave.”

“MobileCoin nodes are designed the Stellar Consensus Protocol to synchronize a ledger, which should allow for sub-second transactions under normal circumstances, along with decentralized control and flexible trust. This also allows nodes to avoid storing a full blockchain of transaction history, since it is only necessary to maintain a ledger of value-to-address mappings as well as the list of used key images to prevent double spending. This provides a certain measure of forward secrecy.”

“Running MobileCoin in an SGX enclave allows nodes to securely manage keys for users.”

The Life of a MobileCoin transaction is described to give you a better idea of how transaction processing works with security being maintained.

“MobileCoin is designed so that a mobile messaging application … could integrate with a MobileCoin wallet.

Check segwit2x. I followed some quotes he spoke of in the email and other breadcrumbs.

Hope this is not too far off the thread…curious what Jim Rickard’s pick is for the only crypto he recommends, backed by IBM.

  9. Anon says:

Stellar (XLM), whose coin is called the Lumen. I already knew they had a relationship with IBM, plus I googled a quote from the sales letter and came up with XLM. It was so easy, I wonder why they give it away like that in the sales letter.

And I remember around the time this pitch first came out XLM was around 70 cents. Now it’s 28 cents! (A good thing or a bad thing?)

“Both Stellar and IBM are part of a project called Hyperledger Fabric”

In his other service (Strategic bla bla) Rickards raves about Hyperledger Fabric, though he never gives away the name of the crypto.

    Google “Stellar IBM” for more.

    http://fortune.com/2017/10/16/ibm-blockchain-stellar/

“Stellar touts a network that can validate and settle transactions in two to five seconds”

    Although this is concerning:

“According to Lund, though, the banks use of Stellar’s digital currency is likely to be temporary.”
