This is a crazy one, I have no expertise on the technical side of this, and it seems like something the world is still just getting its head around, but I wouldn’t bet on someone else taking Intel’s driver’s seat for the global chip industry.
The great chip security hullabaloo is impacting everyone… but it’s also something that everyone will be working on, and probably collaboratively, so it may raise awareness of security issues among consumers but my initial guess is that it won’t be a game-changer for any specific company. There isn’t a company that makes a chip as good as Intel’s but doesn’t have this flaw, as I understand it, so there’s no natural beneficiary… it hurts everyone, which when you’re picking stocks means often comes out the same as hurting no one.
