Casey[1] Research keeps teasing a material that China[2] apparently has a monopoly over. This is a material that the US heavily relies on (I am guessing it is some type of Rare Earth material)

according to wikipedia, the most promising new sources of rare-earth elements will be deep sea floor mud, esp near “smokers.” based on 28 core samples, one japanese scientist estimated that roughly 1 sq mile of mud would contain enough REE to supply global demand for a year. a long term investment strategy would be in firms developing the tech to commercially mine deep sea floor muds
