I could indeed find on Bittrex a Civic Token (CVC) introduced in July 2017, which might be what the ID coin referred to by Brett. I could not find any indication that this company would be traded on a stock exchange. So, please let me know any different or additional information you might have. JD

Patricia – IMO, Altucher’s help is minimal and topical and his “info” is a ridiculously long advertisement and a pretty lightweight booklet. IMO, even his 6 series crypto info is more fluff than sticky info. Would suggest you get assistance from a very trusted family member or friend who has crypto or take up the offer of someone who can help BUT you must be realllllly careful if someone is helping you, especially a stranger! Never share your passwords or private keys. EVER. And never store them on your computer – store on a thumb drive (and make a copy on 2nd thumb drive – hide them separately) and get a VPN service whenever you are using an exchange or a wallet. There are so many ways to lose your crypto by not securing yourself properly so read up first and – again – never ever EVER share your password or your private keys or anything other than your wallet address. Be sure you know the difference. All of the above can be learned via youtube. It’s a great place to learn in small doses. Just put in a search for anything you want to know about crypto and it will be there. Take the time so you are not defrauded.

Hive Blockchain Technology (ticker symbol HIVE) is a really interesting company, but I don’t think it has anything to do with I.D. Coin. Hive has built several data centers in Iceland and Scandinavia where electricity is cheap (geothermal in Iceland, hydroelectric in Norway). The difference between Hive and traditional data centers is that Hive does not provide data storage and processing. The company provides computational facilities for crypto-miners who are in competition to write the first successful proof to a newly posted block that’s being created. Business model is very attractive: the miner always has access to the newest, fastest, most efficient chip sets. Hive pays all the utility bills and it cost s the miners nothing to use the service, UNLESS they win the challenge and their proof is selected. Then Hive and the miner split the fee. The miner has no recurring hard or software expenses and no astronomical electrical bills. Last time I looked, Hive was a penny stock with solid leadership and NO DEBT. I made some quick money on it late December/early January, but the stock price was always a boom/bust kind of market. I couldn’t figure out how to play the swings. When to get in, when to get out.
I recently (today) viewed the presentation regarding the ID-Coin by Stansberry Research pitching the $49.00 1 year subscription for Stansberry Investment Advisory. The presentation refers to this being a company involved in an advanced blockchain technology. The technology has multiple layers of cybersecurity protection including a fingerprint identification process. All this advanced technology is dedicated to replace the Social Security Number identification system in the future. In other words, it is for personal identification authenticity. The article several times mentions that the US Government is very interested in implementing this technology due to it being “Hack Proof” to hackers who want to create harm. I personally do not think we are getting the whole truth about the potential of this blockchain technology and it’s pros and cons. If implemented by the US Government it would provide a digital trail on citizens (at least of adult age) for the government to use at their disposal. This is important in the event that one day in the near future when the Federal Reserve and the US Government want to issue their own mandatory Digital Crypto Currency. The importance is TAXATION purposes for financial transactions in the above stated mandatory Crypto Currency. This system if implemented would NOT be totally anonymous like current Crypto Currencies are designed with regards to financial transactions. This eliminates the problems associated with illegal activity transactions for governments and at the same time increases the tax base. Governments and their associated Central Banks (Federal Reserve, etc) will never allow the current forms of Digital Crypto Currencies to become a legitimately recognized monetary unit for transfer of payments. Yet, governments want to gravitate to this system for numerous reasons that will benefit the banking system overall. I am of the opinion that most all of the current Digital Crypto Currencies are an experiment initiated with an ulterior motive behind the long term goal. If governments crack down on regulations and reporting of the transactions/trading activity to seek a share of the profits (sales taxes and capital gains tax) the current system of Digital Crypto Currencies such as Bitcoin will have no advantage and thus will decline radically in value and then eventually become non existent or be eliminated entirely by law. There is an old saying in the financial industry, “Don’t fight the FED”. I have been extensively researching institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Bank of International Settlements (BIS), and the World Bank (WB) attempting to get a feel for the direction they will pursue in the future. It appears they are developing a “One World” Digital Crypto Currency to eventually replace the US Dollar (USD) as the official World Reserve Currency. The (USD) will fall by the wayside when the Petrodollar eventually fails to fund our governments excessive debt build up. And, the big players mentioned above want this to happen to have a piece of this big pie with regards to transaction fees and interest on loans. But, mostly in the name of control of the entire system.
In conclusion, the ID-COIN is a company that has developed an advanced blockchain technology which has it’s pros and cons depending on your perspective. Therefore, one will need to invest or trade via the stock market to own a part of this blockchain technology company. The only coins/tokens will be what might be issued by any entity (government or otherwise) in the future that uses this technology.
If anyone does discover the ticker for this company I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to investigate a company such as this for a long-term hold position with the potential to trade out half at 100% gain.
I agree with Slysix (at the bottom of comments) whatever it is, you can count on the government using it to their advantage to track everything we do and tax us to death. It will have pros and cons. It certainly will not have any privacy for us from the government. I certainly hope Travis will research this and enlighten us as he always does. I suspect that JtCarter may be correct. Since the presentation was interrupted by a video within the video featuring a deeper dive into the technology with an IBMer could this just be a pitch to buy IBM stock? I can’t think of any other reason for IBM to let itself be co-opted by Stansberry.

Remember that all of the investment advisory services are publishing companies, not investment managers. They don’t make any money by managing other peoples’ money, though a few of them have asset management services available. They make their money selling information and the tactics they use to solicit your subscription are either fear or greed. If they don’t offer a refund or the right-to-cancel then stay away from them. Also avoid the ones who offer a guarantee of an additional free year if not satisfied. Why would I want twice as much of something that doesn’t work. My best advice is to check Stock Gumshoe regularly. Travis has saved be a small fortune in subscription fees for worthless advice.
