I wouldn’t trust that AH in the White House!

Been with IIPR since they went public, purchases between $15.60 and $20.00; avg basis right at $18.00. For most of 2017, that initial bet didn’t look so good…patience has paid off as currently up 48%+ . Will be sitting on this for the long run. Also had chance to be part of a private equity placement with a MJ grower/retailer getting ready to receive final ok from their state to open for business in next 60 days. Between both, have about 10% of total investments connected to the cannabis market; about 2/3 of the $ I have invested in biotech market. Better living through pharmaceuticals!

The future of retail is Walmart, not Amazon and WMT is trading at reasonable prices, especially when considering that it is partially a tech company.

Your apparent trivializing of the impact of Amazon on small businesses and brick and mortar stores is grossly disparaging to then and calls into question your analysis of the overall market. I guess you failed , somehow, to postulate how the market will react when 60% of small businesses fail? I wonder what Amazon will trade at when these displaced employer/employees go for jobs? Maybe, greeters at Walmart? Parking lot attendants? I hate to be sarcastic but your remark reminds me of a policy statement of sorts that was made by AMZN when acquiring Whole Foods in that they will only home deliver to the deserving “upper end of the market.”

Full disclosure: I own no AMZN stock but am a Prime member. My holdings are in income based REITS and bonds; so, I want everyone to do good in the US economy and not just one that used sales tax and predatory advantages to take over the vast retail market. BTW, do your readers know that Amazon has yet to pay a dollar in dividends? (and probably never will like BRK or TSLA.) Guess they need more money to drive more small businesses out. Prez Trump is right to listen to state’s representatives and not stock guru’s with an apparent shortsightedness to find a violation of the anti trust statutes.

Isn’t there a big country risk with South Africa ? The African Congress is passing
a law that will take the land away from White landowners and give it to the
South African government. Won’t Naspers be affected by their location in
Capetown ? And what about racial violence that would erupt.

Travis, I read your February 2nd Friday file that included comments about IIPR and IIPR/PA. Thank you for this Friday File follow-up on IIPR; believe I’ll add a bit to my portfolio.

With regards to Amazon’s attack from the obviously unhenged leader of the free world, costing them over 100 million dollars in losses in one day I have to wonder why there hasn’t been a warrant issued for his arrest on securities fraud charges? Were I a shareholder I sure as hell would be looking to join a class action law suit.
I don’t believe any president in the past has even talked about a publicly traded company openly, much less attack them with such HUGE lies aimed at hurting the company financially.
Totally baffled at how many so called ‘conservatives’ are willing to stand idly by while ‘their’ president runs wild in the Whitehouse?
Cash isn’t king just yet but they are polishing the crown now…if you don’t have cash ya better have a big pile of gold, me thinks.
