A couple of nights ago, I listened to a ”pitch” by Ben Schott, founder of Crowdability[1], was offering information on a company in St Petersburg, Fl., which is a grower for medical marijuana[2]. He spoke of this company as an incredible investment opportunity. He stated it was owned by powerful family in Florida, which would almost guarantee on of the new license to be granted this year. To be honest, I just didn’t want to pay $1000. for the name of the company. Could someone possibly get me started in the right direction to find this company, or if this is legit at all.

I listened to the same conference as you did and like do not wish to pony up $1000 for the name of a company that may or may not get the license. So I did some research on and found out that so far only seven companies in FL have licenses and about seven pending. So i emailed the FL dept responsible medicalmarijuanause@flhealth.gov for issuing Marijuana licenses to inquire about the companies applying for licenses. I figured it has to be public information and the public deserve to know! Maybe I’m too optimistic but in any case they haven’t responded to my email yet. Maybe you can email them as well and if enough people ask for this info they may release them.

On the conference they said this was company was a family owned Real estate company so once we get the list of pending apps it shouldn’t be hard to find which one!

I found the 7 in a news story (google the question) but also you can check the Florida Cannabis Coalition, member directory. That might fill in the blanks on the next few anyway. There are supposed to be 17 total by year end, with strict guidelines about who can get the medical card, so I am not sure it is a slam dunk investment until recreational is legalized.
