I believe that Harry Dent is bang-on with his Wave Pattern and demographic investment strategies although I doubt his forecasting abilities (particularly in relation to precious metals) purely because the world is in totally uncharted territory financially. After reading a few of his books I subscribed to Dent Research Boom & Bust simply for the monthly newsletters which put an interesting spin on global events and their impact on investments which in turn lead me to subscribe to another product of Dent Research – Peak Profits by Charles Sizemore.
The idea behind Peak Profits is to only ever hold 10 value stocks which are chosen through a proprietary stock picking system using 27 variables which are constantly re-evaluated and the portfolio modified on a regular basis. Being lazy by nature this appealed to me as all buy/sell instructions are sent whenever action is required.
After 8 months I can honestly say that his proprietary system must consist of the unluckiest blind person in the world and a dart board ! Following his instructions to the letter my Peak Profits (Peak Losses) portfolio was down over 3% while all the major indexes were up over 9% for the same period. Fortunately, I only ”invested” a relatively small amount of capital.

I too have been a Boom and Bust subscriber for almost two years now….some gains, some losses. 6 months ago, mid-May I subscribed to Peak Profits, executed all sell/buys, including recent ‘hedge mode’ buy; I am now in correction territory, minus 21.22%; that is sure a deep hole to climb out of. you are lucky in that you started your subscription 2 months earlier than I, and did not lose as much!
