The FedCoin silliness is mostly pointless anti-government brainstorming. The US government is not likely to give up control or oversight of its currency, the Fed and Treasury might use blockchain at some point to improve oversight and control of digital cash, but if anyone benefitted it would be a contractor (like Microsoft or IBM), not some mysterious little cryptocurrency.
