I don’t expect it will be a massive winner, but it might end up being an unusually quick one… we’ll see. The share price right now is telling us that no one has a huge amount of confidence in these “leaked” stories about a $34-38 takeover offer, and those same stories indicate that we apparently no longer have the real possibility of multiple bidders who could drive the price up.
I still think mid-$30s is the likeliest price we’ll reach, either in the next month or in 18 months if they end up going through with the REIT conversion instead of a takeover… though if the takeover doesn’t materialize, we’ll probably see mid-$20s again first Interesting story.
