thanks for the discussion on blue gas /hydrogen energy. i will appreciate if you will send me more information on creating blue gas power station,,maybe articles to research on

Mengel’s “blue gas” posting is a typical lengthy talking head over-hyped presentation, providing little information and larded with claims to have predicted every stock price increase in the world.

Wikipedia provides an excellent overview of fuel cells in general and hydrogen fueled ones in particular: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_cell.

Blackridge Consulting offers a single-user fuel cell market study license for $3990: https://www.blackridgeresearch.com/reports/fuel-cell-market. A key point in their summary is that we are a long way from large scale cost-effective deployment of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The Hydrogen Council targets all of 5,000 hydrogen filling stations globally by 2030 . For comparison, there are about 150,000 gas stations in the USA alone.

So yes, hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe, and yes, the hydrogen fuel cell reaction product is water, and yes, there is ongoing effort to overcome the technical, operational and economic difficulties of transiting to a hydrogen economy. But it’s not going to happen overnight. Still, the stocks of some companies that have been fighting their way up hill for a while now are showing promise – For example:
Ballard Power Systems (BLDP up from about $3 to about $8 over the past year)
Plug Power (PLUG , up from about $1.30 to about $3.20 over the same period)

For those interested, a global list of fuel cell manufacturers can be found on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fuel_cell_manufacturers

Blue Gas – Blau Gas is the stuff that the Graf Zeppelin the Hindenburg used as buoyancy. And if you think it will replace electricity, think again.

  9. Jim says:

Currently Blue gas is made by passing hot steam (that is H2O in its gaseous state about 101 degrees centigrade) over hot coke. Coke is made from coal Coal is mostly carbon. The carbon in the coke leaches the Oxygen from The steam and the resulting blue gas Is 1H2 + 2CO. That right folks carbon monoxide. Blue gas initially is hydrogen gas dissolved in carbon monoxide. The lighter Hydrogen can be separated out an the carbon monoxide can easily be converted into carbon dioxide which is a presently a greenhouse gas. Hydrogen can also come from water using solar cell electrolysis. Currently there are no plans for large solar farms designated for this purpose. For now and perhaps the next decade the coal industry will dominate blue gas production. In general hydrogen gas by itself is very difficult to transport. When Hydrogen gas is mixed with carbon monoxide to form blue gas it easier to transport and transfer to an auto at a filling station.

That Jimmy Mengel ad is now getting close to two years old, just to be clear, and it is largely unchanged from when we first covered it — our original piece is here: https://www.stockgumshoe.com/reviews/crows-nest-the/will-blue-gas-be-the-tesla-killer/
