Does anyone know why Harry Dent sold Dent Research? Maybe he was just done with it?
I was a lifetime member, and I liked some of their analysts.
Now I’m handed off to Paul Mampilly and Banyan Hill. Is there anybody worth listening to at Banyan Hill? I’m not excited about digging through all their stuff.

Hey everyone, I know I’m a little late to the party, but I called Banyan Hill this morning, as I too was a lifetime Boom & Bust subscriber. On the first attempt, I got through within 2 minutes and was able to speak with a representative. He was very friendly and offered me a prorated refund.
Just an FYI: My refund of over $4,000 was authorized by the representative on 4/8 but has not hit my credit card yet. They said 3-5 business days, so one more day in that window. Also, to be fair, the credit card number has changed since I paid for the membership 4 years ago, so they may end up sending a check. But just wanted to post…
Just an fyi on last post regarding credit posting to older account number. I was nervously awaiting my funds and hoping there were no glitches or other problems. I waited the 3 – 5 days but ended up calling today.
First…the money was sent by Banyan. A small portion had already shown up in my account under my recent credit card number. It was a prorated portion of my annual membership fee. I used a newer card number for that original transaction and it went through as early as last week.
The balance (substantially over $4K) was reported to be taken care of but it had not yet shown up. This was the amount charged for the Network Service some time ago. I had to go to my bank to research this. It took a while, but the found the money in the system, although it has not shown up on my credit card balance sheet yet. The bank assured me it was there, but it could take a couple of weeks until it hits my monthly statement. It gets too complicated to explain the inner workings of the bank but I am confident the money was paid by Banyan.
If you are nervous…I strongly suggest that you go through your bank. It should be there.
Now…if only I could get Banyan Hill to stop trying to sell every new program under the sun…
Thanks Robert, this is great information!
Several of you report being promised refunds, all or partial. Only one commenter seems to have actually seen the funds in his account. I’m wondering how many of you readers have actually RECEIVED the promised funds? Is Banyan just making promises, or are they actually sending the refunds?
Sam, I think several people here have reported actually receiving a refund. I don’t know if it depends on what you had purchased from Dent, and when. They appear to have refunded a portion of the Dent Network lifetime membership for several people, including me. They might not be refunding non-lifetime subscriptions–I don’t know.
And they may have changed their policy over the past couple of weeks. I don’t know. The steps that worked for several people here were “Call Banyan Hill (866) 584 4096. Select option 4 on the phone options. You will get a small sales pitch on the benefits of Banyan Hill. Just say not interested. They will transfer you to a product specialist who will also do a mini sales pitch. Just say no. They will then check the payment records and send a dollar amount to the credit card on file at the time you paid. Or…they will send a hard check if they cannot find the card. ”
Wishing you success.

Harry, Rodney, and Charles
Has anyone on this group not called and received a refund? I notice that Harry and Rodney are launching their new service tomorrow (April 24). I have reached out to see if former Network subs will get any special consideration. I’ll keep you all posted. Personally, if all we get is moved to another service with some lame “early bird launch” gimmick intended for the general public I’m likely out.
Back in April I tried calling Baynan Hill and kept getting put on hold or even cut off. I finally wrote to request my refund. After a month, I wrote again, this time using certified mail. Also sent to Charles Street Research and Agora, who apparently owns them both. Eventually both pieces of B.H. mail were returned, citing incorrect address (although it’s the one on B.H.’s website and mailings). I finally discovered they had a physical address in Baltimore. Again I used certified mail. I was eventually notified by Post Office that my letter was sent to yet another address, but was eventually delivered. That was over a month ago. I have had zero replies to any of the letters. Why do I think I’m being ignored? Did all you who say you were getting refunds ACTUALLY receive them? I sure don’t have much regard for B.H. doing the right thing at this point.
Biff, I’m sorry to hear your attempts to contact Banyan Hill have not succeeded. I don’t know if the window of opportunity for refunds remains open. Several of us had success, in early April with the following process: “Call Banyan Hill (866) 584 4096. ”
Harry Dent had to sell his shtick because GOLD maintains prices above $500./oz Even Harry has tired of his rhetoric.
