workarounds for computer glitches

I am not sure how this thread will fly.
On my laptop, I have Windows 10. Every time Microsoft issues an update, the sound on Yahoo[1] Finance and YouTube videos, and I am sure there are others, fails. I am tired of reloading speaker drivers and spending a few hours trying to fix it. I have even used my own restore point to back out the update but that only works for a few weeks.
My solution was to switch my browser from Google Chrome to Microsoft Edge and everything works fine.
