Beat the market with ZERO downside? Any clue what this maybe without subscribing to his newsletter? It seems too good to be true.

Secure Retirement Accounts are set up by one’s employer so I’ve got no idea what Skousan is talking about; not to mention that zero downside is pretty hard to imagine.

Yes, that’s some kind of indexed or variable annuity — looked at it last year at one point, and the teased ideas he talked up his wife having chosen at some point in the past was wildly better than anyone would be able to get in the current market, so I don’t think I went so far as to write up my findings. Will see if I still have some notes, but the shorthand is yes, insurance annuity deals with very little downside risk (and limited upside) do exist… but the available terms weren’t nearly as good as they sounded in that pitch, and I wager they’re probably even worse now.
