Anybody have any ideas which company Brown is pushing now that is supposed to be the greatest bio tech company that makes and is releasing a new model gene sequencer? Push to buy a newsletter for $49.

Could be Twist Bioscience Company (TWST). Currently at $62.97. I believe they have been around for a while, but not sure they have a “new” gene sequencer. Believe I got involved with this one after reading some information from one of the Motley Fool groups. Company claims to have a unique way to produce/replicate DNA.
Thanks for your information.
I think it might be Illumina (ILMN), they already do about 80% of gene sequencers and make most of their revenue from selling the reagents necessary to run tests on their equipment. One report noted this was a company with a “moat”, which means their big jump ahead of others and size makes it hard to compete against them. They announced Wednesday they were in talks to acquire a related company that they already own 14% of and it seemed to scare many off and the price dropped about 8.5%. If possible, may be good time to buy on Thursday if you can get in early, I bet the price will jump back up tomorrow.
it might not
they USE them they dont MAKE them….it is Pacific Biosciences of California
Yes,Jeff Brown’s pick is Illumina. I live about 45 mins. from H.Q. It was $340 when her picked it went to $380 then dropped to $290 today 9/18/20. Great company but rich value. With such companies dropping quite a bit I say watch and wait. jlafea@outlook.com
I couldn’t find a good reason for the big drops. In the long run this should be a good pick for the bio tech industry. I was told a very wise tale that ended with, “Don;t be a miner, sell shovels to miners.” That is what these guys are doing. Think about it — at the end of the gold rush miners were all broke and the guy who built the greatest “mercantile” industry was wicked rich.
Just like Fredrick Trump in the Yukon! Grandpa Trump, who ran Whore Houses and sold to the Miners, knew how to make money on the backs of others!
How is it not Pacific BioSciences?
It is 1000% illumina-not sure how to answer how its not pacific bio lol
no it’s not
JB’s has only four biotech recommendations on his $49/yr service: they are ILMN and REGN, BMRN, and VRTX. The only one that fits is ILMN.
I have Browns newsletter, and he made a case for @ 12 biotech companies. Brown listed: BMRN,
ILMN, NTRA, A, ALNY, SRPT, BPMC, QGEN, CRSP, PACB, CDNA, PTCT. Of those, several are Sells or short candidates, so do your own homework!
because Pacific Biosciences of California MAKES the sequencers, Illumina simply USES them……research my brother
I don’t know where you get that idea, Illumina is a major manufacturer of sequencing machines — they use contract manufacturers, too, but PACB does not make the machines that Illumina uses. The argument for PACB is that long-read gene sequencing is going to begin to become a major business, either supplementing or replacing the short-tread sequencing that is Illumina’s strength.
PACB is the one I came up with also. In the video I watched, he kept mentioning, the investment now would be like buying into Amazon when their stock was like $45. So it’s definitely not Illumina. The only thing is I cant seem to connect Scott Gottlieb to PACB. And he said Gottlieb sits on the board of directors for the company he is picking as his # 1. I dont know when the video was made (forgot to check that) so my timeline is off a bit to determine that, because Gottlieb sits on the board of directors for multiple companies.
“And he said Gottlieb sits on the board of directors for the company”
Its Illumina, check this out:

Scott Gottlieb is a member of the board of directors for Illumina
it’s not
no it’s not
Then what is it??
What is the crispr biotech stock that will cure blindness that Jeff Brown is pushing in his exponential tech investor newsletter at $4000
Editas
CRSP is another one
Thanks Travis! I was going to buy CRSP, and now EDIT. I used the charts to buy NTRA & CDNA, this is a space where we probably have to buy a basket! The ETFs like IBB should be used if a person does not have a gumshoe clue!
Pacific Biosciences has gene sequencing equipment being used in the same facility (Human Longevity) as illumina. Pac Bio has a better sequencer imo.
I thought Illumina purchased Pacific Bio in Nov 2018. Also, the latter is a manufacturer of gene sequencers, whereas I think Illumina uses them to provide its services and earn revenues. If Jeff’s pick is one of these companies, I think it would be Pacific Bio. Anybody know by now? Morningstar says its over valued. Price is rising and insiders have been selling in the last 2 months. Anyone know what this means?
The pick is 100% illumina
no it’s not
another one was BMRN
I’m french, never heard about Jeff Brown before 20min ago (in an interview on Instagram)and it took me less than 10 min to find it was Illumina, how can it take longer to americans lol. He said that the former US FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb was now at the board of this genome sequencing company. Simply Google “Scott Gottlieb genome sequencing board” and you’ll find that he entered Illumina board in February.
Hey 9th Man – check my post out listing the 12 stocks offered by Brown on his website. ILMN was one of his choices, but Travis has posted here that it was EDIT. Of course, CRSP is also considered by many on here!
Hey French Genius, glad you have learned to use the internet!
Is C-V2X on the US Stock exchange? My online brokerage account can’t find it.
C-V2X is not a company, it’s the name of a standard for cellular vehicle communication, part of the proposed standards for autonomous driving and cars that can communicate with each other to increase safety. Brown has used that term to pitch a few 5G-associated stocks in the past, somewhat generically, as I recall that has included Nokia (NOK) as well as the cell tower REITs, I think the last article I posted on that was here: https://www.stockgumshoe.com/reviews/near-future-report-the/whats-the-6-stock-pitched-by-jeff-brown-for-the-1-tech-pick-of-the-decade-the-c-v2x-revolution/
ILMN Illuminati genome sequencing
The reason I think it is Pacific Bio and NOT Illumina is when JB is discussing his pick he states they are the ones that will manufacture the new model of sequencer and PB is the manufacturer of Illumina’s sequencers. What do you think Bruno?
Part of the tease was that Scott Gottlieb joined the board of directors. I found this on a google search- hope it helps: “Dr. Scott Gottlieb, former US FDA Commissioner, joins Illumina’s Board of Directors
February 06, 2020
SAN DIEGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Illumina, Inc. (NASDAQ: ILMN) announced today that Scott Gottlieb, M.D. has joined the company’s Board of Directors, effective February 4, 2020. Dr. Gottlieb is currently a special partner at the venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI). From 2017 to 2019, he served as the 23rd commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Guys/Gals – pretty sure its ILMN – check out this press release: https://www.illumina.com/company/news-center/press-releases/press-release-details.html?newsid=8cd141fb-68d0-4144-8922-45693ac3f453
Illumina Receives First FDA Emergency Use Authorization for a Sequencing-Based COVID-19 Diagnostic Test
It’s not ILMN, its PACB. He specifically says its the company “making” the sequencer…not doing the analysis in the lab.
I haven’t written about this teaser pitck, but Illumina (ILMN) is one of the largest makers of sequencing machines in the world and quite dominant in the space, still — Illumina and Thermo Fisher (TMO) lead the market for short-read sequencing equipment, though Pacific Bio’s (PACB) focus on long-read is seen by some as more important in the future.
Hey guys, no matter which company he picked up, he’s the liar. He showed that company’s stock jumps as around $45 in 2007, $70 in 2009, $160 in 2012, $340 in 2017. There’s no such company at all. At least some of the evidence exposed in the video was intentionally misleading. But the company is Illumina for sure, it jumps high in 3 months.
Pacific Biosciences of California
Any thoughts on BioNano?
