PacBio and ILLUMINA

A few months ago PACB and ILMN were mentioned in an article by Travis and several comment threads. Part of the discussion was whether the tease in question, I believe by Jeff Brown[1], was referring to PACB or ILMN. I ended up purchasing both simply because I find the long term potential within the field of genomics intriguing. Beyond that I have no real in depth knowledge of the field. Since my purchase PACB is up about 130% and ILMN is up about 25%. I noticed a news alert today about PACB hiring two top executives away from ILMN. I don’t really have a specific question but I would appreciate any insight from fellow readers who might have a more in depth understanding of genomic field and these two companies. I will probably hold both positions as is, but the thought has crossed my mind to sell some of the ILMN and use the proceeds to purchase more PACB. Any thoughts appreciated.
