WHat do you think of Lucid Motors? They are at about $23 right now. They state that they will be in production by the end of this year. It is a great design and their first model will be 100K I hear.
It looked interesting enough for me to take a flyer and bought a few hundred shares to see where it goes, I think they will be definite competition for Tesla.
Anyone have any input on this?

I think the EV companies starting up now will have to compete much more vigorously against a new wave of EVs from established carmakers than Tesla did, so I’m skeptical… Tesla is a special story because of Musk’s gamesmanship and willingness to bet the company on his vision, but it is a cool car.

Luke Lango has been touting CCIV and has it in his InvestorSpace portfolio, currently as a top recommendation. (I’m a subscriber to a couple of Luke’s services). He believes it will be the equivalent of a luxury Tesla that wealthier people will prefer over Tesla. The company reportedly already has a lot of pre-orders on their $170k EVs and plan to have the cars on the road I believe in the second half of the year. I think it could go either way on this one – also depending on whether they actually have the cars produced on time. I do have a stake in it – I think it could really go either way – high risk high potential reward

The Lucid power electronics traction drive is far more advanced than that of Tesla, producing more power with less heat loss. All at even less weight. Tesla made it big because it was one of the first and it was “cool” to own one. Nothing cool about an old heavy car though when new start ups are inventing new technology.

Tried to find Lucid Motors on the market but could not. Is it a private company?
