written by reader What is Teeka Tiwari’s “The Super Halving”?

By moneyfool, May 13, 2021

Apparently, Teeka’s “The Super Halving” event refers to a complete stop in new supply of Bitcoin that according to Teeka will happen this year instead of the originally intended year 2140 (120 years from now!).
He claims that there will be 6 small altcoins that will see a price increase that will be much higher than the price increase that Bitcoin itself will experience from the full cut off of the new supply of Bitcoin.
Which 6 altcoins is Teeka referring to?

P.S. Though currently my financials leave me “out for the count” as a participant in the market, I, to appreciate OLI and “the tribe” in this column. I read to keep in touch in all things Teeka even if unable to participate in his recommendations. I’m currently only a member of PB Letter and I feel Teeka’s most recent sessions moving into to monies down beyond my limits. The comments here help me feel grounded .. a good thing. Thanks all!

Happy to see you posting Helpless! Teeka certainly is keeping a diverse offering. I’ll less interesting in the longer term more speculative options, but if I had 20-40 prime working years, that may be a different story. I find the PB Letter is a very good starter with a great cross section of options (little bit of crypto, investments, etc). Have you tried the Groundfloor recommend? I did that back in May, and its been doing pretty well. Enjoying the concept of crowdfunding for mortgages.

Hello my friend. You are a warrior! So appreciate your reply! I’m not familiar with the “Groundfloor” recommend. Where might I learn more … ? Yes, if I had 20-40 prime working years ahead – and Teeka as a educator / guide – PLUS a platform with trusted input such as yours, my focus too would be a different story.

Groundfloor can be found in the Real Estate section of the portfolio for PB Letter. If you click on the link, or go to groundfloor.us Its a crowfunding platform for real estate mortgages with a minimum investment of $10, and yeilds of 6%-12%. There’s a ton of mortgages you can help fund, great search/sort, I’ve averaged 10%, with most repaid on time or early, the others have received extensions due to the property being listed for resale, etc. It’s worth taking a look, and helps to diversify out of stocks and cryptos. I set up a small amount, and reinvested the gains. There’s plenty of diverse options on the PB Letter portfolio,

Hi Everyone,
I’m just a recent lurker here and have been quite interested in reading the comments back and forth. Some years ago my (better?) half somehow bought into a lifetime subscription for Palm Beach , etc., newsletter offerings through a predecessor newsletter now defunct. He’s a Teeka Tiwari follower and has been indulging his risk-taking urges by buying various crypto currencies.
I can’t remember the name of the latest newsletter, but it wasn’t included in his membership.
I’m not likely to have the funds to invest here but I probably should keep abreast of investing trends. Also, I’m curious to understand the world he’s involved in, and what he’s talking about.
So – comment away, people!

Thanks for sharing this Jason. It’s really difficult to gauge just how thinly to spread yourself with these recc’s..? I seem to have a much larger portfolio of cryptos than I’d originally intended!!! Anyone else find it difficult to be selective? !

i am finding it harder and harder to be selective….i am up to about 25-30 coins and none of them have a real large amount..So i debate to keep smaller amounts in many coins or try to pick a few and roll more money into them…I have also wondered what others do…

I think it’s better to be more selective and add more to the projects you really believe in. I’ve had to really hold back myself. I own about 25 coins, and will add more on occasion, but my focus now is buying the dips for the coins I already own and building up the bags. Good luck!

Ugh. Sorry to hear! This is my fear re: another one of the pre-ipo reccs. Such incredible hype, and seemingly for nothing other than an investment in a disorganized company with bad communication skills, and weak social media presence. Disappointed as well. Only one, Cloudastructure, seems to be on the ball. First shareholders’ meeting this Friday.

Yeah I remember the pitch well, life changing, need to hurry, once in a life time…… Teeka apparently was hosted in a private session to see first hand what a wonderful company and opportunity it was !!!!!
What is probably more upsetting is there is no communication no follow up just no ownership of the recommendations he probably got his cut and move on to the next. Am not renewing any memberships with Teeka I am afraid …..

Another buy alert for PB Confidential : LYXe upto $20 buy on Uniswap or Kucoin. It’s a metaverse token, does something with creator economy, social networks, etc. Its a lengthy post, with an estimated read time of 75 minutes. I zoned out after the 5th paragraph on YouTube, and that was near the top of the whole thing 🙂

I don’t disagree with you. I’m holding tight with what I have, happily I bought when they dropped last July, so I’m still in the money on my BTC and ETH, as well as MATIC, DOT and SOL, there are a couple of others, but my major holdings are BTC and ETH. I was feeling a bit over invested in crypto awhile ago, so I’m not putting any more in, just shifting around. Stable coins are a great play honestly, I’m getting 10% on mine, and they’ve been extremely liquid if I need the cash, or if I want to convert it to some other token. USDC is a nice place to park the funds I “over invested”. I’m thinking about investigating some defi possibilities to diversify and increase my yield.

Gary, I believe Teeka released a video over the last day or two. Apparently between the holidays, travelling, etc he contracted COVID and food poisoning. Sounds like a fun time. I haven’t seen the video, scanned the transcript quickly on my commute. Swamped at work, but I’m hoping to catch up on all things investing this weekend, if I get lucky. If we get some of that big nor’easter coming up the coast, that will buy me some extra time inside.

Indeed! I’m looking at a sea of red on my crypto portfolio with a few islands of green (BTC, ETH, MATIC, DOT and SOL). I’m still 10% ahead overall, but that’s a far cry from where it was. Hold on (HODL as the case may be), and things will go back up, and then down, and then up.

My stock portfolio is looking a bit perplexed as well. Happily, I had taken some profits earlier in the month, and started moving out of some of the more speculative stuff, so I have a bunch of cash just sitting in the account…. time to go bargin shopping. These days, I’m selling puts for things I want, collect the $$$ and perhaps even get the stock. Certainly is interesting times in the markets …..

If you log in to Brownstone, drop down to the crypto service, check the most recent reports. Sometimes their alert systems aren’t the best. Also, check his portfolio to see if there is something listed with the same name as the new event, that’s how I find Teeka’s new recommends if I don’t watch the show. From what Dave posted, it looks like he may have recycled his kick-off recommends. Good luck!

Aw, thanks for the shout out CD2021! Been busy at work with year end and all the fun stuff that goes along with it. Actually, today, I took some time off to go outside and play 🙂 I hosted a guided snowshoe tour (about 5 miles) for teenagers. I left with 15 and made it to the end with 3. Don’t worry, we went back and retrieved the rest by snowmobile, I’ve never lost one yet. Needless to say, they have new respect for this old baby boomer.

On the investing front, it’s been a bit quiet as I’ve been swamped at work, and my side gig. Happily, I’m watching my crypto portfolio go back up without any attemtion. As some of my random small holdings climb back up, I’ll be liquidating them to stable coin, and simplifying my account. My stock portfolio has been doing pretty well, and I’ve beem selling calls & puts like a wild woman, and making some decent $$$ due to the volatility.

On the crypto front, my friend did jump into the Dan Hollings THE PLAN program that was discussed back in December. Interestingly enough, he’s done pretty well during this turbulent time. Those trading bots really helped pull in some yield, even with the market downturn. We’re talking about $4k in returns on $20k invested in a little over 4 weeks. He’s started the next phase of the program which is DeFi and Rebalance, so I’ll be anxious to see how that goes. Then I guess there will be something on NFTs. I may give this serious consideration when it reopens next time.

Not much else to report on this side of the keyboard, just trying to stay warm and not disappear into a snow drift. Oh, wait, there is some Teeka update! He’s hosting an event in a couple of weeks, a little mystery and intrigue, but I think he’ll be announcing another new crypto service. My friend with all the memberships has been piloting a crypto trading service from Teeka for the last few months. The problem is, it’s very time sensitive, so when those alerts go out, you need to jump, otherwise the price has moved out of range. With the last few months, sometimes the price moved in the wrong direction, and there have been about as many losses as wins. I would proceed with caution if anyone jumps into that pool.

I need to go feed OldManInvestor and CryptoPuppy (yeah, he needs a nickname too). They were very good while I was outside playing with kids, and got all the vacuuming and cleaning done. Tonight will be snuggled up movie night at home!

Any pearls much appreciated….stay warm out there!!

Thanks for the question – I learned options (puts & calls) from Teeka’s Alpha Edge service. I started out early spring last year with them, and recouped my membership cost in less than two month. After following their directions and logic, I started reading a little bit more so I started to understand it a bit better, then went off on my own in September and have been pulling in about $3k-$5k each month.

First rule, only sell a put on a stock you are willing to own at the strike price. That means, sometimes I lowball a stock, because I just feel most things are overvalued right now, so rarely do I get awarded the stock, and sometimes I do, at a really fair price. I’ve started doing that for any stocks I want to jump into, it’s been a great savings for a few of my holdings, and less of a buyers remorse when I do get awarded. A few times I have bought back my Put in order to free up the cash reserve to either buy something, or sell another put. The only time I do that is when the value is down to pennies (I may have sold the put for $1.25 per share, and now it’s only worth $0.03 per ….. net gain of $1.22 x 100 shares for me to spend on other stocks).

Second rule, only sell a call on a stock you are willing to part with at an agreeable price. This is a great way to make some money off some of your holdings that may not pay out dividends, or are appreciating as quickly as you would like. There’s a few of my holdings that I can regularly sell calls on, and they just never hit the strike price, which has effectively brought down my “investment cost” in those particular stocks to something reasonable. When the mood strikes me, I can sell at a lower price than what I may have paid for it, but still netted a profit because of the call premiums. This has been a fantastic strategy for some of the speculative stocks I bought that promptly went down (crypto miners ) – people buying those calls have probably watched the same promos, and decided to take a cheaper route by buying a call, if the stock is soaring up, they have a bargain.

Third rule – stay away from all the leverage and margin plays. I think that is where many people get into huge trouble with options, as well as all the folks borrowing crypto to yield farm. When the prices go down, you get squeezed. If you are playing with your own cash, there’s no more downside.

Some of the cool kids sell puts on index funds to generate income, I’m not that saavy so I can’t speak to it. The advantage to that is, those options are 3x a week, instead of weekly or monthly like corporate stocks. I may try that down the line, but I’m more interested in safety and accumulating the shares I want. Sorry I can’t bestow anything more substantive, but I’m as new to options as I am crypto. On stock investing, I’ve been doing that as long as the dinosaurs roamed, and we used boulders as currency 🙂

OLI, thank you so much!!!! That’s all really interesting to hear- and wow, I’m impressed that you are able to make such a handy income using these option strategies. Has certainly got me thinking. particularly about selling puts on stocks that I plan to continue DCA’ing into that (painfully) are currently waaay below my last purchase price. If the option gets exercised, sounds like a v good approach to lowering the buy- in cost, and if not exercised, a nice bit of income to reinvest, so a win-win.
I’m over in the UK so no idea as yet where best to gain access to a good options platform, am using etoro (no options there) and HL brokerage but fees are steep there so we’ll see. If you happen to know of any good int’l brokerages plse shout? Once again, I really appreciate you taking the time to educate me on all of this!

Hi again OLI,
Sorry to pick your brains again with another options related question but I’m afraid your prev posts inspired me to start looking into them a little more!
I’ve found a decent low cost UK platform called Saxotrader which offers options on NASDAQ listed shares (in which I’m regrettably slightly over invested!) but as per convention, contract sizes are always 100 shares. So unless the underlying share is only about $10 or less, there’s the potential to have to fork out well over $1000 in new share purchases if prices fall and the put option I’ve sold gets exercised. Means it really restricts the share choice I can afford to short puts in. Just wondering if you know of any clever tricks to get around this – am aware of micro options which are based on x10 underlying shares rather than 100 – would be brilliant if I knew of a platform that offered them! Your infinite wisdom here much appreciated!!!

Congrats to your friend! I am so willing to jump into NFT at the right moment. Everywhere we hear that we cannot miss this one. On my side I cannot say that I ever did 5-8 times my investment. With Teeka’s alerts it’s interesting, I got in once for quite a big buy when the price moved up just to drop shortly after. I am still on red based on his last May recommend. Thanks for keeping us in the loop, for sharing your knowledge and adventures!

CD, be patient, cryptos are a volatile investment, but they payoffs are there. First thing to remember is that its ok to take profits from time to time, contrary to what these investment gurus say. It makes these crash cycles less painful when they happen. Instead of pulling the funds out of crypto entirely, I park profits in stable coin, unless there is something new that I just have to have. If it is sitting in stable coin, you have funds ready to go the next time Bitcoin goes to $28k or Ether below $2k. That’s how I got lucky last July, didn’t even know that was going to happen.

NFTs are a curious beast to me. I get the purpose, see the value in the “technology”, but seriously can not see that a Bored Ape Yacht Club or CyberPunk is worth $1M. The ability to tokenize a property deed, making the whole buying/selling process quicker and less costly, absolutely. We were joking about turning some of the funny pictures of my dog into NFTs, which if we did, and people actually bought them …the money would go to one of the local animal shelters or rescues. Otherwise, CryptoPuppy would squander the funds on snacks and toys. He’s had a few photo shoots for local company promos, which funded his therapy dog training. And he was featured in one of the Orvis Catalogs …. he’s a very handsome goofy pup. Who knows, perhaps I’ll launch an Apathetic Poodle Social Club nft, with CryptoPuppy in goofy settings.

As far as my teenagers, I’m pretty sure I’ll see 4 or 5 again, the others just couldn’t keep up with someone 4x their age!!! The one young man asked if I liked to hike, so I may have a hiking buddy once the trails are ready. He’s interesting in doing the “46” high peaks of the Adirondaks, so I’d be happy to get him started. It’s a good day when you can get poeple outside and away from all the electronics, there’s so much else to see, do and appreciate. I’ll be back out on the snowshoes this weekend, with or without companions.

OLI, you seem to turn everything into a profit, even CryptoPuppy. Maybe a Masterclass not too far in the future to share your savvy with us.
Yes, I am developing my patience and also my buying intuition I might say. To wait until it feels right. However with this past dip, I was waiting for a deeper dip and it rebounded. Good thing is I do not panic anymore that I am on red or not rushing to buy when there is an uptrend going. But I would love to ride the wave from the beginning.
Wonderful! 46 high peaks is a great one, I have liked so many of them, hope to be back there soon once crossing the border will be just a beautiful walk.
Thanks and Best to you!

Hey Guys, I just signed up for a service called Weiss Ratings, which basically rates cryptocurrencies. As part of the service, they sent me a paper titled “The Eyes and Ears of the World Computer”… To cut to the chase the paper was all about Chainlink and the important role it plays in bringing external data into smart contracts. I wish I could attach the paper but unfortunately, I can’t, but I will tell you that paper has me pumped that I own Link and will be planning to buy more! Link has the market share for oracles that allows off-chain data to flow into the blockchain. I just wanted to share the excitement!

From the Anomoly Window teaser, it’s for the Alpha Edge subscription. I have to admit, I signed up when they presented last year, and made a nice amount on it. For the $1600 for 2 years, my profits for the first two months of leads covered that subscription. There were a few misses this past year, but not terrible ones, plus I learned enough about selling calls and puts that I’ve made a nice amount since on my own. If you are not interested in options, you can skip tonight.

No, I´m suscribed to Crypto Inconce where by the way, they just recommended Osmosis…
OLI, do they tell you when to buy/sell options?

They do, sometimes you’ll get a few at one time, sometimes it’s a few weeks between. Basically you get an alert when something bubbles up on their opportunity screen. Otherwise, you get a monthly letter, with a portfolio update, etc. I’ve liked the analysis of why they are picking what they are, on a few occassions I passed on an opportunity either because I didn’t have the extra in my 401k, or it just wasn’t a stock I was interested in, and those tended to be the times it was a big winner in 2 weeks. In my almost 1 year with Alpha Edge, there were about 5 times I was instructed to “buy a call”, which we turned around and sold less than a month later for 3x or 5x. Now that’s pretty cool!

I’m a small investor in this platform too, so I tend to only sell 1 contract each time. OldManInvestor started following along late last year, and he does 3-4 contracts on the ones he really likes, so he’s done gangbusters with it. As always, do you own research, and only go for the ones that you are willing to own if the market turns crazy (like um… now). I started selling calls on some of my holdings in my 401k, so I’ve been generating $4k-$5k each month now, so it’s been like earning dividends on some stocks that don’t pay dividends. Also, I’ve gotten rid of some stocks that I was a little underwater on, but when you add the call premiums, I was breakeven. Also, now when I decide to buy something, I always look to see if I can sell a call, and get it a little lower – plus it gives me the time to decide if it is really what I want to put in the 401k. For me, Alpha Edge was a valuable subscription.

Quick update, I got an alert today – sometime this morning. It looked like it was written for all the new folks who enrolled from last night’s event. Anyways, with the market down so badly (until the last hour or so), I was able to jump on the 3 different recommends, and at a better price than the targets. I just checked my account when I got home about a half hour ago, and woo hoo, my puts dropped in value (which is good), and the calls went up (even better). If i sold 2 of the calls, I’d be about $300 ahead, not a bad return for less than 24 hours!!!

He is still very bullish – there was a lawsuit appeal on patents for CRISPR technology and it is still ruling for EDIT – he feels there will be much upside this year and he expects the company may be acquired based on the latest ruling.

Hello gumshoe family.
Does anyone know what are the 9 “Next Generation Coins” that James Altucher is touting in his “Early-Stage Crypto Investor” publication, by any chance?
He claims that as soon as these 9 coins get uplisted in Coinbase, the coin values will soar.
I really appreciate anyone sharing the names of the 9 coins. Thanks, again.
Best,
Kazito

Greetings Gumshoers! Haven’t posted in awhile, been busy at work. Teeka posted a small update on Crypto Confidential yesterday – he’s recommending getting familiar with the Osmosis DEX, open a new wallet called KEPLR and deposit some ATOM there for transaction fees. Apparently if will allow you to purchase coins that haven’t been listed on exchanges yet, and lower fees than the gas fees associated with MetaMax. Looks like he’ll be posting some recommends in the coming week . Hope everyone is well.

Oh, so sorry for the delay, I’ve been slammed at work lately! I don’t see anything for 4/8. The last sell order I see was from 3/30 to sell WAVES 30% of your holdings. Waves was something he recommended in 2017, so I’m not sure if anyone is holding that currently. He’s posted a video yesterday about “Smart Money is still getting it wrong on crypto” – haven’t had a chance to listen to it yet, but I’m not thinking there are any buy or sell orders in it. Three more weeks, and I’ll be back to posting, hopefully by then the cryptos will stop acting like a yoyo.

Taxes are unfair, you get taxed for a trade and taxed when you cash in, that’s a double tax. I hate the IRS.

All the newsletter boys have been running special events lately, my inbox is overflowing with invites and replay links. I’m guessing its the Spring campaigns for all of the services. My thought is that Teeka will either be pushing his Crypto Confidential or Crypto Income newsletter. My friend with the Legacy subscription said that he was trialing a Crypto trading service by Teeka, it did not go well , so not sure if that will be ready to release into the wild. He’s been getting killed with the Jeff Brown recommendations, they’ve been tanking like crazy. Diverse portfolio is good, but overly diverse and scattered investing method make it impossible to mitigate with all that has been going on since the new year.

Nothing since WAVES from a week or so ago. I believe he may have sent a partial sell order for a small amount of Luna from the Crypto Income service, but I’m not subscribed to that service. Basically, I think we’re in a HODL phase, waiting to see if we are in a bear market, or is something going to trigger the parabolic move up they’ve been predicting for the last 6-9 months. Right now, I’m not buying anything move, but moving things around. I bought a small amount of LUNA and RUNE from my stash of stable coins after the market correction in late December, and sold off some of it when it had more than doubled. Also, I ventured into defi with my stablecoins to the Anchor Protocol site, where I’m getting almost 20% on my UST. That’s lovely. Sadly, my winner of staking coins at Celsius has been limited, good news is that my current holdings will continue to earn, but I can no longer put anything more in there until I certify as an accredited investor – so that’s a sit tight position.

I know nothing about SPERO, that may have been a recommend by one of the other newsletter dudes (are there newsletter ladies? hhhmmm). From a quick look on Fidelty, it was probably a tip from Jeff Brown, he’s big into all the healthcare stocks. I don’t follow him, my friend has and is currently sitting on huge losses – it’s a name we don’t say in front of him right now 🙂

My guess is the “crypto panic” will be related to Ethereum moving to Proof of Stake later this year (late-Summer/Fall timeframe)

Crypto Income pitch. They make it sound like it’s a brand new thing. I missed what the trigger will be for the panic buying.

Like said above, it was indeed about Ethereum moving to Proof of Stake, which should be better for transaction processing.
And the panic is about panic buying.

Good evening Gumshoers! I received a buy alert on Crypto Confidential today. Loopring (LRC) buy up to $1.50 on Coinbase, Crypto.Com, KuCoin, or Binance. This is a smart wallet play. Lengthy write up with update on the previous recommends. The top 5 previous are BTC, ETH, AVAX, RUNE, and my personal favorite MATIC.

Well, my husband and I tool advantage of Coinbase’s $10 free trade offer to open an account there for me.
Our $10 of free trades on Bitcoin has now been processed.
In my shiny new Coinbase account I’m now the proud holder of $10 worth of $BTC. (His $10 freebie has disappeared into the infinitesimal decimals of his existing holdings of $BTC.)

Sell Alert… 5 coins to 5 million turned into BUST.
Sell…
“Streamr (DATA), Status Network Token (SNT), and Numeraire (NMR) from the Final 5 Coins to $5 Million portfolio… and Solve (SOLVE), and Saffron Finance (SFI).

In doing so, we’ll book a 312% average gain and retain some dry powder for future ideas.”

The thing about those “gains” is they are calculated BEFORE he says to sell. Now the price has totally tanked so you are lucky to make much at all now.
