Hardware Wallet, Software Cloud Wallet, Cold Storage options or something else TBD?

Would love to hear your thoughts on this and why. Yes, HW is the safest cold storage, but also has risks if you lose or damage the device, right? And what about all those key phrases – where to store them beside my memory – lol. I know some people put in a safe deposit box and then we are back to a central bank/authority having to give you access to your belongings? Software Cloud is available an “pretty” safe, yet is not in your full control and only available via someone elses’ platform access.
Now with some many platforms and Centralized / Decentralized, and Web 3.0, where can we get solid information and advise.
