Strategic Fortune sell alert : SELL QCOM,SPLK and VRM
What do others think about Ian’s directive to sell QCOM, I wonder? It has done great for me, and has a quite reasonable P/E ratio compared to most in this industry, with solid growth ahead per analysts, a reliable dividend… What does he know that is not reflected here?
https://simplywall.st/stocks/us/semiconductors/nasdaq-qcom/qualcomm#valuation
I don’t even see a lot of insiders selling it off.
I am considering selling a portion to free up cash as Ian suggests, but have a lot of other stocks that will likely underperform it going forward. Maybe I should sell them instead!
Thoughts on QCOM, anyone?
QCOM is a great company, i don’t expect it to explode yet will most likely grow. It is a long-term decent bet.
Selling SPLK is also a move I don’t support, they got an investment recently, almost all mangers were replaced, and the rule of the CEO is basically the last to be replaced.
The company changed its business model, and these moves usually requires different leadership.
The selloff is unexperienced investors move, nothing fundamental changed in the company and the expected performances are looking good.
I’ve held QCOM since 2019. I sold it today. I want to buy MARA and TSLA
MARA has been very good to me. I plan to hold until the current bull peak for BTC. Then the profits will go into GBTC and ETHE. As to TSLA, am now looking at LCID and have opened a small position
MARA has been up and down lately allowing to get out and back in and enjoying the movements. Has anyone else been doing this?
I have both MARA and TSLA but I want to add more shares. Actually, about 20% of my portfolio is TSLA. I have a sizable position on LCID. I first bought it when it was going down after its IPO. Then I quadrupled my position when it bottomed up at $19/share.
I have BTC and ETH instead of GBTC/ETHE.
Me too Doc
What are your thoughts on the btc bull peak?
Nda
Another analyst suggests to buy QCOM instead of selling it. I took profit out of it many times
Hi Everyone.
Does anyone happen to know what is Ian King’s #1 stock (Fintech stock) which is supposed to be in the “payment processing industry”, by any chance?
Truly appreciate anyone sharing that stock name & ticker. Thanks.
Kazito
Maybe $MQ? Im
Guessing
Thanks, Jim. What is MQ , though?
MQ is Marqeta. a payment processing company but pretty sure it’s not his pick. And it’s certainly not a company that impresses me that much.
The #1 stock Ian King is teasing is supposed to be Square (Travis writes about it here: https://www.stockgumshoe.com/reviews/automatic-fortunes/no-1-tech-stock-for-2021-and-the-end-of-the-dow/ )
Thank you so much, doctor_bb. I really appreciate it.

Crypto Flash Trader Alert:
Let’s Sell SNX
Rebound OPTIONS sell HOOD for loss
Brutal day. And what a weird market. Out of the NASDAQ stocks roughly 216 made 52 week highs, but 561 stocks hit new 52 week lows. Pretty divided market
I’m a little concerned for PM picks over the next few months. Although Nov/Dec are generally good months for the market, it’s also getting to the point where fund managers are going to look at their stocks and start to cut losses to offset their gains. Profits have been taken in stocks like Cloudflare and Crowdstrike over the last few days. And where are the losses this year to offset those gains? In the small caps. The Russell 2000 has failed to keep any momentum, and my read of the charts is that it’s looking at breaking down again.
I hope i’m wrong, but I have a feeling we’re going to see big money giving up on a lot of these stocks this year, and I’m not sure what the catalyst will be for them to get back in. If there’s going to be a rally in the market, I’m expecting it to be in financials and for some continued rotation (or parking of money) into the safer megacaps again. I think stocks like MARA will continue to grind up, and perhaps some of the EV and rare metal plays, but my personal opinion is that the next 6 months may be pretty gruesome for the smaller biotechs, and even the likes of 3D printing stocks.
Just my 2c, but not feeling great about this part of my portfolio.
I posted this a few pages back but was curious what the red, yellow, green denote on VENKATESAN’s spreadsheets.
Red means the positions were sold and no longer recommended as buys. Green means new recommendation added to that service
Thank you doctor_bb!
Crypto Flash Trader— Having my doubts about the metrics ID is using for some of these trades, personally I didn’t sell my position in SNX today, I’ll just hold and see if it eventually rebounds, if BTC and ETH start moving back to previous highs if should follow. GLTA
I didn’t sell SNX. IK has a play to hold it until $20. There’s some conflict of interest, although ID makes short term plays whereas IK makes long term plays. I also am skeptical of the algorithm or TA strategy ID is using. Most of his picks have been bleeding out for weeks now with the exception of MANA. If we’re to sell SNX, how about Sushi, Ren and Aave while we’re at it, as all are doing about as poorly.
Anyone know what happened to DOCN today? Couldn’t decide whether to sell or buy more. Just investors taking profits or more sinister?
A lot of high-flying growth stocks particularly those in the technology sector sold off on the Powell news. Yields on government bonds have extended overnight gains.
Just profit taking. Cloud stocks have been pummelled. Cloudflare is another example.

Thanks Sam, I have also just received the alert.
I am really starting to think that PM is following Cathie Wood.
Tech is taking a hammering again and so I will set a buy at the lower buy points. It looks likely that both will dip to the lower recommended points? I certainly have not seen a buying spike following the alert!
I guess its vice versa too. Cathie is following Paul. Common Strategy is they both look for innovation stocks and future growth and invest ahead and sit tight…I guess we should just stop looking at the portfolios on a daily basis as this is shaking our hands..kekeke…
ZM (part of PU): For a 3rd consecutive earnings, Zoom’s revenue growth stayed flat. They are beating earning estimates but future growth is becoming more and more questionable. It will be interesting to see how PM reacts to it.
Crypto Flash Trader Alert:
Sell MANA for 50% Profit
Thanks for sharing the alert. nice to take a fair profit.
I ‘m only selling half of my MANA holdings (gets my initial investment out plus some profit) and keeping the balance of shares for the ride. Anyone else holding on to some of MANA?
I’m holding Mana as well, haven’t sold any of the position, holding a while longer
I will continue to hold all my MANA not selling anytime soon
Crypto Flash Trader Alert

As the saying goes very few Mutual fund managers can consistently beat the index . Carry some proven ETF’s like QQQ etc along with a good measure / mix for diversity . I am sure we all know that and need refreshing once in a while in these volatile days .
Great points, olly123. I think it’s important to remember that, while we hope that PM offers what turns out to be profitable advice in the long-term, having other investments outside of his portfolio will be to your benefit. He’s been down on AAPL for years, but if you bought it 3 years ago, you’d be up 150%+. AAPL is more like America 1.5, in my opinion. It’s not as cutting edge as some of his recent picks, but it’s not a dinosaur like GE or Coca Cola either. Some of my best performing investments are stocks/ETFs/mutual funds not in PM’s portfolio. Additionally, my best performing cryptocurrency, by far, is not one of ID’s picks. I think a blend of PM’s picks along with your own investments is the way to go. And I always follow the ‘rules of the game’ with PM’s portfolio. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I concur. Diversification means you have some stable investments, particularly as you age. I’ve posted before the PM recs are separate from the 401(k), which I have in an age-based plan. Make sure at a minimum you participate in your employers 401(k) to get the match, at least.
And IRAs too. Use them to your advantage, and these likely should be priorities before you delve into the riskier stuff.
Totally agree with that, max out the 401k and Roth’s. I have about 15% of my total portfolio in Crypto and higher risk growth stocks. I totally enjoy this thread and I’m thankful for the information shared here.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Thank you Time to Roll !
DD, the basic rules of investing are always good to remind, or teach young-ins. Thank you for taking your time to teach others. You are a benefit.
Rules of the game is 100% I bought 5 or so PM picks on the strength of a NNDM uptrend. Consequently all we’re at a top, and now all are at a loss. So now playing the 1 to 5 year wait. Not what I intended, but could turn out to give me a double!!!
You nailed my portfolio. I’ve got some VGT and other Vanguard for stability. Freeing up cash the other day I sold AEYE . Didn’t realize this PM stock was at an 88% loss for me. (gulp) Well it’s an offset sale now.
Happy Thank Giving to Everyone here, all the best wishes …
Back atcha Sam!
