Stripe is the ultimate prize, it’s hard to imagine the internet working without them at this point — but with the recent wild valuations of IPOs and the high valuations at which many of those companies have raised money privately in recent years (I don’t know all of those names, but the ones I’ve looked at are mind-blowingly expensive, a sign of the times in the dramatically over-funded venture capital world), it will probably be scary to buy any of them early on.
