In talking with my 22 year old daughter today. We were discussing what her kids one day will say, “I can’t believe you didn’t have …..when you were growing up.” I was guessing flying cars. I’m not great at predicting I suspect. She immediately said it will be the megaverse. She felt it will be a major shift like smart phones were. Apparently you would be able to have business meetings, or church services in the megaverse and everyone would be fully interactive with each other.
I looked up companies that are working on that and came up with this: https://money.usnews.com/investing/slideshows/metaverse-stocks-to-buy
I went ahead and bought one stock of Unity Software, and three of Roblox. Any thoughts?

So…I had searched for any articles in Gumshoe before I posted this question. Then as soon as I posted it, I saw the article from Dec. 16. I’ll read that.
One of my favorite new stocks is Tokens.com , OTC: $SMURF, their core business is buying crypto for the sole purpose of staking and earning rewards which they, someday, will pay back to its shareholders. I feel they are NASDAQ bound very soon. $20+ million in assets earning 58% annualized returns. But what makes them a metaverse play is the fact they just bought majority stake in “Metaverse Group” which for 3 years has been buying and renting out real estate in 3 different “current” metaverse platforms including Decentraland. Why this matters is Decentraland is OPEN, and Live, whereas FB is arguably just a concept (though I expect that to change soon). Tokens.com seems to be one of the purest/leanest companies I’ve ever seen, virtually no overhead, first mover in Defi staking rewards, and their exposure to metaverse.
I own Unity and it’s a good platform for 3D realtime video and animation, so that could certainly be part of the “metaverse” story, though all of this virtual living will be more of an ongoing evolution than a flip-of-the-switch revolution. Other names often mentioned as foundational for the metaverse, beyond Roblox and Unity with their strength in gaming, are the hardware companies in either chips or augmented reality (NVDA, AMD, many other chip companies… sometimes VUZI is teased as a “glasses” hardware play), or, of course, Meta itself and the other huge tech platforms that will all be involved (FB, GOOG, AAPL, etc.). I have some exposure to a lot of those, though it’s probably also true that the metaverse theme is being as overdone as an investment idea as the virtual reality theme was five or six years ago.
U is getting hammered, good time to get in arguably! Or get more. What sold me on Unity was their name keeps popping up with these higher end VR glasses that are available now. Seems to be well entrenched and a first mover for sure. Offers slightly better returns than FB, but not Roblox. All buys imho.
I own NVIDIA $NVDA and Datametrex AI TSXV: DM.V OTC: DMXTF for this space.
Datametrex AI is a profitable currently under the radar Canadian technology-focused company with exposure to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and their AI division Nexalogy is a preferred vendor to LOTTE Group, Samsung and Shinhan Financial.
LOTTE Group is the 5th largest conglomerate in South Korea, they earn over $60 Billion USD per year across 90 business units, they are aggressively spending to become a major player in the Metaverse and have awarded Datametrex several purchase orders since last summer.
Datametrex and their consortium partner, won a $40 Million CAD$ bid on a multi-phase R&D program contract on January 12, 2022 for the Canadian Government.
This contract is a multi-phase Canadian Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) bid that was previously announced on October 25, 2021 with the potential fully realized contract worth approximately $40 million CAD. Upon the successful completion of this phase, the Company will move to the next phase of work.
The company also announced that the Company is planning to graduate from the TSX Venture Exchange (the “TSXV”) to the Toronto Stock Exchange (the “TSX”) in the first half of 2022.
Also, the founder has started buying shares again, 750K on Jan 7th, 2022 and 250K today.
Correction; OTC DTMXF
