written by reader Chart Industries (GTLS) –Is it too late to buy this as an LNG-for-Europe play?

Hey Travis,

Chart makes equipment for liquifying gasses. You haven’t talked about it for quite a while and I owned it years ago. GTLS came to mind recently after the awful goings-on in Ukraine[1] and discussion of weaning Europe off Russian gas. I understand they have been disfavored as a purely cyclical natural gas[2] play but are starting to branch into the “sustainable” arena of hydrogen[3] gas to give it more secular, consistent revenue.

I almost bought some then (about 30% ago) but didn’t as I don’t understand their business model, costs and revenues. I’ve been waiting for a pullback to nibble at it.

Do you have any thoughts?
