Now that we’re a quarter into the year, we’ve posted the spreadsheet for our Teaser Tracking for 2022 — this will keep growing as we add more names through the year, and a lot of readers like to use these pages as an “index” of the teasers we’ve covered throughout the year, or a way to look back and see which newsletters might have made good on their promises of 10,000% returns in the past (spoiler alert:  not many of those).

You can always find all of our Teaser Tracking spreadsheets here — the most recent few years are pretty well updated and corrected for things like bankruptcies, delistings, name or ticker changes or mergers and acquisitions, but as you go back to our spreadsheets from the early days, from 2007-2011 or so, they gradually get more out of date — fully half of the stocks teased in 2007, for example, have either disappeared, gone bankrupt, been renamed or had some other major change, and we haven’t cleaned that page up recently, so I’ve got some work to do in going back and reflecting what happened to all of those earlier teasers.. but the more recent stuff is pretty clean.

And the story changes every day, of course — I usually post a “year in review” of some sort at the end of each year, and the top ten stocks as of late December, 2021, are not the same as the top ten performers on the 2021 spreadsheet today… no surprise there, several of the technology stocks have fallen out of the top picks for that year, and some of the gold, resource or ‘value’ stocks have moved up the list.

So dig in and enjoy — maybe you’ll find a diamond in those fallen stocks from 2018 or 2019, maybe you’ll be reassured by the few past leaders that did indeed reach those wild returns of 1,000%, and even occasionally 10,000%.  Most of the best performing teaser stocks of the past 15 years were fairly well known even when they were first teased, like Shopify (SHOP) or The Trade Desk (TTD) or NVIDIA (NVDA) at various points over the past decade… but there are a few that really exploded out of nowhere, like Enphase Energy (ENPH) when it was pitched by one of the Casey folks in 2016 (that’s up about 17,000% now, rivaling some of the all-time best teaser picks — not sure if it’s the all-time leader at this point, since those older spreadsheets need cleanup, but it’s up there with the Fool’s pitch for Netflix in 2007).
