Luke Lango’s Breakout Trader SystemHey Travis and all members. I just watched Luke Lango’s Breakout Trader and would like to know if anyone has subscribed? I did something with Lango a year ago now and it has mostly not performed well at all? Yet he spouts out outstanding numbers over the past few months. Open Door Tech and Desktop Metal are down allot! These services just keep reinventing new names for the same sort of previously promised returns, what a great game! I am very curious about his 4 new recommendations and how they perform initially. Has anyone taken the plunge with Break Out Trader yet?

Hey Hollis, he gave the first one for free NASDAQ: CELH. It looks like it could go higher as I found the product idea not that bad and Celcius puts a lot of PR / Marketing effort at the moment. Stock has some postive momentum over last 3 months. Actually wanted to make some samll investment, however my brooker in Germany did not have them in their portfolio yet. Otherwise I think the same like you – most of those services are nothing more than re-branding same research and similar ideas. Results are mostly poor and cannot be backtested. I would not pay $2K for this stage and in current macro-environment as it would most porbably yield negative rate on return. If somebody in the group knows one or another title, we can look into the ideas.
Thanks Travis for your thoughts on this and I cant agree more, just like most businesses especially this one it prays on what if’s ! In my honest opinion with the wide adoption of AI and blockchain advances it may be possible to build a program that will conceivably identify great trading options with little or no risk but then what? I always get very suspicious with large claims and then read the fine print which in most cases will with a subscription like this or similar state “if the system does not deliver you will get an additional year of the service” ! So what ! lol Anyway if any Gumshoe readers have any additional information or comments please let us know!

Luke’s latest two recommendations in Breakout Trader (as of 4/4/23) are:
OSUR – Orasure Technologies, buy up to $6.50, up 3.45% since my purchase on 4/5/23
TCMD – Tactile Systems Technology Inc, buy up to $17.00, up 2.83% since my purchase on 4/5/23
Th0se are obviously very short transaction results. Here’s a sampling of purchases I’ve had for longer periods:
CRSR – Corsair Gaming, buy up to $19.00, up +10.19% since my purchase on 1/25/23
DENN – Denny’s Restaurants, buy up to $10.50, down -8.69% since my purchase on 1/25/23
HIMS – Hims & Hers Health Inc. , buy up to $8.00, up +20.16% since my purchase on 2/1/23
SPOT – Spotify, buy up to $130.00, up +5.47% since my purchase on 3/9/23
YEXT- Yext, Inc, buy up to $7.25, down -10.76% since my purchase on 2/28/23
SVM – Silvercorp Metals, buy up to $3.75, up +9.77% since my purchase on 3/22/23
These are actual examples & gains/losses from my portfolio. I have not held these stocks since the beginning of the Breakout Trader service, so my results differ from what is posted on the site’s portfolio. Also, I have not purchased every recommended stock and I have sold a small number just before getting Luke’s sell alert.
As you can see, the gains/losses bounce up and down in what Luke calls a Stage 2 Breakout channel, the idea being that whenever a stock drops, it meets support and bounces to a higher high. If a stock does not follow this pattern, it is soon sold, as happened to one recommendation, PRQR, which was bought and sold in a matter of days in favor of a better performing opportunity. Or as Luke puts it, “A faster moving train.” No reason to stay with a slow train just chugging along.

DXLG – Destination XL Group, buy below $6.00; currently $5.49
PSTX – Poseida Therapeutics, buy below $6.00; currently $2.85

The report is dated Jan. 19, 2023.
Personally, should anyone be interested, I never bought CELH, bought and sold DXLG and ADMA at intermediate high points (possibly planning to re-enter), and still own PSTX. As always, do your own research, keeping in mind the date of his report. These stocks and all Breakout stocks move up and down within a breakout channel, meaning on any particular day, you may catch them at the top price or the low price of their channel (wiggle room). When they fall out of the bottom of the channel, they are sold.

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc (KTOS), buy up to $14.00
Ardelx, Inc (ARDX), buy up to $5.00
As always, DYOR. I purchased these two today, 5/17/23. Remember that the point of Breakout Trader is to catch stocks within a Stage 2 breakout channel, during which they may move up/down within the defined channel on any particular day, but the general trend of the channel is upward. When they drop out of the channel, they’re sold and replaced by other stocks.
