Don’t know what DVOT is. Cheetah Mobile (CMCM) is a microcap Chinese mobile app company that’s starting to try to build some ai-driven products in robotic marketing (like a coupon kiosk, but it moves), “smart” advertising, and cloud services. The core business, which is mostly security and utility apps (plus some games), is about 80% of revenue, but their loss in 2022 (lost $2.60 per US share) was even worse than their loss in 2021.
High gross margins, cost cutting, revenue growth coming out of COVID, but their guidance for the first half of 2023 is for a decline in revenue (from $54 million in the first half of last year to a range of $45-52 million this year).
Thanks, Travis, for sparing us due diligence efforts that would not have gone anywhere. I ran “DVOT” by 8 screeners/analysis reports; no such stock symbol. As for CMCM, the same screeners that bothered to rate the stock gave it a “D” , “Strong Sell”, or the equivalent.
Perhaps the author would consider spelling out the name of the company for “DVOT” in case of a typo and supporting CMCM with a short reason or phrase for recommending it.
