Saw an article about driverless cars needing laser eyes to see like humans to drive driverless cars. It said Lidar was the hey but it was to expensive but that a young “Elon Musk” had come up with a way to cut cost down to make it plausible. Dies anyone know what this is?

That’s almost certainly a reference to Luminar (LAZR), which is the “survivor” of the wave of a half-dozen LiDAR companies who came public through SPAC mergers a couple years ago.
