Un arriving on SG home page at approximatly 2:30 EST Tues Dec 5 I was presented with a large page wide box prompt for “START NOW” which in turn would load “Data Shield for Chrome”. No other explanation. The prompt is so central and prominent to the page that I assumed it trustworthy and was tempted to click on it as a matter of course. After all this is Stock Gumshoe. Doing a bit of research I found that Data Shield (DS) is a browser hijacker. That bad! The business model is that DS redirects my browser queries according to interests of paid clients. It operates in the background and can be hard to detect and remove. This is neferious stuff and I am surprised to see it here. Feedback appreciated.

Sorry to hear that… ads on the site are all managed by Google and should have the little designation that indicates they’re ads. If we know of bad actors we can block specific ads, but we do not review each advertiser that might appear through Google’s auction system (and each visitor will see different ads each time).
OK Travis, thanks for the clarification.
