Any take on what 5 buck stock they are touting over at Stansberry Research[1].

They have been recommending SAND since long

  2. Yes, they’ve been pitching Sandstorm Gold with similar ads for several years now — it was Bill Shaw’s #1 Stock to Buy in 2019 for Stansberry’s Commodity Supercycles newsletter, which was a new letter at the time. Bill Shaw is no longer at Stansberry, and that letter is now helmed by Bryan Tycango, but they’ve continued to use Sandstorm as their favorite gold play in teaser ads — it was their “urgent gold play for 2022” and the “#1 Gold Play for 2023” . and I haven’t looked at the latest ad yet but I would bet it’s just a mild update for their “#1 Gold Play for 2024”.

Gives me no great pleasure to say this, since I also own Sandstorm Gold (SAND) shares and have for more than a decade, but it has been the worst performer among the meaningfully-sized gold royalty companies over those past five years or so… largely because of some dilutive empire-building deals by Nolan Watson and some delays at their major projects (particularly Hod Maden in Turkey):

Yep, SAND and most SPROTT offerings never pay off for us Share holders.

    Thanks for the update Travis.
I’ve been out of town and busy with other things but now it’s 2024, I’m looking over my portfolio and my kids’ accounts. I was wondering why $SAND was doing so poorly. Is it heading for the RMD funding chopping block, or do I spare it this time around?
