Gold, Silver, Copper, and Hard Assets…Fall 2017

This is a continuation of the predecessor thread titled: “Gold, Silver, and Hard Assets…Summer 2017”. After my lengthy introduction, guidelines, disclosures, position summary, and warning notices, I will re-submit some meaty posts on Ivanhoe Mines which I think deserve attention and provide a timely change of emphasis; and I will also summarize the findings from the […]

GOLD AND SILVER AND HARD ASSETS…SUMMER 2017

Pretium Resources $PVG announced on July 3 that commercial production has been achieved at Brucejack. That achievement makes a nice breakpoint for a new thread continuation on hard assets, which I introduce herewith. This thread is a continuation of threads posted previously by the author on gold and silver and hard asset investments. It incorporates […]

WHY HELICOPTER MONEY IS BETTER THAN FED EASING

WHY HELICOPTER MONEY IS BETTER THAN FED EASING The term “helicopter money” has been used to suggest direct cash subsidies to the population as a possible method of monetary stimulus. It was s sardonically suggested as an alternative to Quantitative Easing (“QE”), as it is currently practiced through bank and institutional monetary mechanisms. QE is […]

LET”S MAKE ICELAND THE 51st STATE

The US government and the hedge funds really missed it in the last financial crisis. In 2008 Iceland went bankrupt because they had external debt of $50 billion dollars. Hey, the US Treasury should have just fired up the printing presses for a few hours and bought the whole darned country. When the next crisis […]

NEGATIVE INTEREST RATES: WHAT IF ?

Recently there has appeared economic policy discussions about NEGATIVE INTEREST RATES. This is the first time in my life that I have ever heard of this concept, and I know of no historical precedent for it. It seems to be a theoretical construct of policymakers who are desperate to ”stimulate the economy” and are following […]

Dow top at 18191.10 for three hours ?

Was watching this morning very closely…anyone notice the flat-top Dow pattern from about 9:45 to 12:15? Never saw anything like it, on a five minute chart there would be fallbacks that would top out precisely at 18191.10, lasted about three hours…anyone got an idea how or why this could happen ??

$ANAC…Anacor and small cap Biomed stocks

CALLING FOR BORON BIGFOOT $ANAC Gosh I really need this…anyone else got toe fungus ? ANACOR was approved last fall for selling us a topical treatment for toe fungus based on boron chemistry. Don’t laugh, they said 35 million Americans suffer from toenail fungus. And it is often on more than one toe. Anacor specializes […]
