Where do I begin? Here’s what Frank Curzio does with Curzio Research Advisory. Hey buy this stock. The stock goes down 25% or more and then he says don’t worry “our” thesis is intact, great buying opportunity, now you can buy more of it at a “discount”. Then he’ll say “we have time to wait” for it to go back up because it has a great dividend. WTF! What about the loss you just incurred on the stock you said was a great stock??? The latest example: “Altria is a strong buy” despite the negative news you are hearing. Negative news? People are dying from vaping and they are trying to align with Jool the biggest vaping company out there.
I too got suckered into his worthless “lifetime” subscription. I am going to call today and cancel. I can’t stomach another second of this guy, let alone a lifetime. His podcast too is misleading. He will talk about general subjects such as the state of Apple or how this company reported. But he’s basically using this platform to display some sort of legitimacy to the public. While underneath, unless you subscribe to his higher price newsletter or his security token offering, he offers nothing to the main street guy.
I subscribe to a financial newsletter for one reason only: GAINS! If you aren’t willing to put in the effort to do this with a lower price newsletter then don’t offer it! Be honest and say sorry, if you want my expertise you are gong to have to buy my big ticket, higher price newsletter. I realize this now and have since purchased a higher priced newsletter from a different stock analyst and have been extremely pleased with the results. I am MAKING MONEY with him. What a concept Frank! You should try offering this to your CRA subscribers sometime instead of the spin job you orchestrate everyday.
Thank you for info on Frank. I have been swamped with his e-mails. Would you mid sharing the name on newsletter you are now using?
I singed on a CRA intro newsletter when it first came out. Canceled immediately after 1 year. I liked his podcast and he’s seems like a good guy to grab a beer with. His stock picks are horrendous. GE, as many on here site, he doubled down and then said it was his largest holding.
Then he starts complaining GE lied on the conference call. He brags about being able to decipher BS on conference calls.
When he recommended INTC and AMZN, I knew I was done. Owned both stocks for years, and he’s just trying to save some face.
GE has gone from 65 to 110 since your post. Maybe his timing was off a bit but it sure paid off.
Echoing what others have said, I have not done well with Frank’s picks by and large, but what bothers me more is his over-the-top hype of each of his picks, which lacks a serious review of the bear case / risks. Every pick is going to make you rich.
Not only is this off-putting (especially if the stock underperforms, which is frequently the case), but it erodes trust and makes it difficult to place any value on his opinion and research whatsoever–like the boy who cried wolf. I had intended to keep the “lifetime” subscription despite the $19 annual fee (which I did not catch when I signed up), but I now have such little faith in his work that it is not worth even that to me.
For what it’s worth, I think Frank is extremely well-intentioned and genuinely cares about his subscribers. I also think his podcast is worth listening to for his contrarian perspective on investing and insights into oil, gold, crypto, uranium, etc. And perhaps his higher-end newsletters are worthwhile. I would just think twice before purchasing the seemingly good deal on his CRA service.
I do hate the way he markets his product. He’s following stansberry and guys like that to me they seem like sleaze bags. However I am happy with my Curzio Research Advisor service. Im up 300% on AMZN, IAC up 100% , ELY up 30% , NEM im up 67%- some of these I boughafter he recommended or I would have been up more but I dont have a big account. Just saying i m happy with his work. He’s done more than fine by me
Im very happy with my Curzio Research Advisory subscription. I have had a few over 100% winners. I really cant say anything bad about it. I dont plan on ever not subscribing and would recommend it.
In the beginning the write-ups were thorough, and he wrote them like an evangelist for the stock. Unfortunately, if you bought into the hype, then you lost big. (GE, DBD, GLRE) He has had some winners, but after many burns I gave up. I look at the portfolio for ideas and ignore everything else from him. He also had a promotion for special lifetime members that supposedly would give you even more value. That has not been updated since 2019. It doesn’t look like he puts much effort in this newsletter anymore. I always liked his podcast, and he seems like a good guy. You may also get burned badly along the way when he overly hypes and under delivers. I dipped my toe back in the Curzio water again with (KGC) and like clockwork it’s down 30%.
Couldn’t make it through one podcast. I would guess this guy thinks the election was stolen from Trump. Exhibit 1: Just as many people with Covid-19 vaccinations have died from Covid-19 as people have died from Covid-19 without the Covid-19 vaccination. 1:20 Frank, not 1:1. And unnamed sources … really? Are these the same guys that said Trump would be back in office by Summer 2021?
