I did some research online on Crowdability and its Early-Stage Playbook, which is also being marketed as the Genesis Investing system. It is basically an expensive course in venture capital investing through crowdfunding. Regulation changes under Obama made it easier to invest in private capital and VC. However, the large number of failed VC investments make it plain this is not for the average investor who has limited capital and needs a crowd to invest with her, but for a specialized expert with deep pockets. The typically paradise-sounding pitch singing about 4,000 percent returns doesn’t mention the risk at all. It also croons ,”You’ll never have to invest in the stock market to do this!” Yes, great idea, avoid the stock market for the even-riskier domain of private capital! However, if you’re interested, the Crowdability website does have a lot of free info you can look at without taking the Genesis course.

Good points. And the most appealing and scalable early-stage companies aren’t being crowd-funded, the big amd overfunded venture capital funds get their hooks in them first. You won’t find an early stage Uber or Facebook on those platforms, though some of the companies may well end up being good investments (most of them, of course, will fail and disappear pretty quickly… but that’s the fun of it, sorting the grain from the chaff, it’s just that you have to do it after the big machines went through and the experienced farmers already took what they wanted. Big VCs thresh and winnow the grain, small investors are the mice sniffing around the field when they’re done…. some mice get fat, but not many, and they don’t live very long.

Majority of these will be losers simply because the large vc firms passed on these deeming them losers. I have yet to hear about 1 crowd funded company going to IPO or even being bought out at a massive payout.

I agree in the sarcastic point of view of the matter. Now, if you plan to invest on this scams, is because you have an idealistic point of view, not emncipated but also a circunpect climatic obscure and obtuse idea. No, not at all, I won’t compromise with these sadomasoquistics which try to simulate and emulate even emulsify the kamasutra relinquished and ergomasterososis view of opinion. Whatever you decide is up to you. I warned you many years ago and you did not pay attention at all. Go to sleep!

Another thing I realized. When you get a pitch from Crowdability about some company about to moonshoot just go to the websites that specialize in these private offerings (Republic, Wefunder, Seedinvest, etc) and you will see whatever company they are pitching. Their newsletters are all very expensive and just summarize private offering from these websites.

Helpful website Travis but the font is too light and small to read using my iPhone. I’m hesitant to subscribe further when I can’t read your website material which is free for a taste.
